Seems kind of early for the clutch on an 2005 to be burned out already unless it was used pretty hard. :paranoid:

But one test to use is to find a steep hill. Drive up it and floor it. Does the car accelerate? Or does the tach rev and the car slows down? Try higher gears. You *should* stall if you're in too high of a gear going up a steep hill at a low speed.

you can do the same thing on flat roads. go slow, put it in a high gear, and floor it. if the engine bogs or you very slowly accelerate, then its fine. if the RPMs go up but your car isnt accelerating, then you need to get the clutch checked out.

Another sign (although not a conconclusive one) is that you may experience difficulties shifting into 1st gear and/or reverse gear.

Here's another way, 5th gear, at a stop, parking brake applied.

Rev it up and dump the clutch, it should just die instantly as you let the pedal up.
Any delay before it dies, or if it keeps running, there's a problem.

Yeach i know it's little early for 2005 to burned out but i'm second owner of this car. When i bought it it had 20 000miles (and car was only 6months old at that time). Now i'm starting to have bad feeling that first owner wasn't good with clutch :dunno: . I mean clutch is still working well, but i just don't think that it will last as long as it should. oo well maybe i start saving some money now for new clutch kit... :D

both of my accords were driven by people who couldn't drive stick....the first car, I got the clutch to last till 90k, after 26k of moron abuse on the 6th gen, and there was 5k of moron use on my 7th gen...we'll see how things go, but I think the 7th gen clutches are waaaaaaay better than the 6th gens....so you should be fine, unless you also had a moron driving before you
