View Full Version : Moisture in the headlights
Hi Everyone,
I just got my 2003 LXG Touring Edition this week and have noticed that when the car is out in the cold, a bit of moisture forms in the corners of of the headlamps (near the high beams). Does this happen to anyone else? Not sure if it's normal. I might have to check out some 04's in the dealer's lot one morning.
Thanks in advance.

I have an 02 EXVL, & there is some moisture in my headlamps on both sides. I just live with it. I doubt it would be covered under warranty. Even if it was the replacement parts might be worse. I don't like it though. I want my car to be perfect. Back to the real world - it won't be. I pick my battles with the dealer. This is not worth fighting over for me.

We've noticed it too. We plan to just watch carefully for any signs of corrosion & take it from there....:)

The headlights lens assemblies are ventilated to compensate for atmospheric pressure changes. Some condensation will form on the inside of the lenses which should evaporate with headlight use in about 30-120 seconds depending on conditions. Think of it like your front windshield when it gets fogged on the inside...Basically it's the same concept.
If the headlamp lenses weren't ventilated...The pressure changes could crack the lens and/or blow the bulb!

Wow...what can I say that's just beautiful. A helluva knockout punch for your first post!
