:dunno: I just bought a 06 Accord EXL from Crown Honda of Greensboro, NC

I was told when I bought the car you got a great deal but we have a 110 price guarantee, if you find a lower price within 7 days we will refund 110% of the difference. Well that was worth nothing because the next day I received a internet quote for an identical car from another local Honda dealer for 800.00 less. I went to the lot and verified the car and the price. I called Crown and was told I needed a signed buyers order from the other dealer. The other dealer refused to do this because they do dealer trades with Crown and did not want to upset them. The General manager from Crown said he could not help me. I then found another dealer with a lower price that was willing to give me the signed buyers order. Well then crowns general manger said this order had to include my trade??? I ask how could the other dealer include my trade when Crown had my trade. He said I should have thought about that before I made the deal. It is crap that they use this tactic to sell you a car but them make it impossible to collect. BUYER BEWARE OF CROWN HONDA IN GREENSBORO, NC

Standard Fare, read the fine print. They didn't screw you, you didn't read everything. BFD! Same as any other dealer on the planet!

You know what works best. Take delivery of the car once your happy. Don't look back. If the dealer made a couple extra bucks, its ok. That's their job.

Just remember for next time.

Bummer!

This is one of those situations where my dad would have sat me down and told me that i "should learn from my mistakes." Next time, read everything and do a little research on prices in your area.

Now, you know what to expect from dealers. So next time, take some time so you won't feel like you are screwed as much. :lmao:

Dang, that sucks! That's why I went to Vann York Honda in High Point instead. Our last 2 cars ('98 Accord EX-VL and '05 Odyssey EX-L) were bought from them. Their service was excellent so that's why I bought my Accord from them.

I am on my second Honda Accord (traded in my '04 for an '07), and I can tell you that the raw deal you claim to have gotten in 2006 is 100% your fault. I do feel bad for you, but really, do you think that your trade-in has no bearing on final price? The trade-in has everything to do with the final price.

I bought both my Accords at prices below the dealer's invoice price (you can see invoice prices at Edmunds.com), and I didn't for one second fool myself into thinking that the dealer didn't make a little bit on the deal. If they didn't, then they wouldn't be in business. Do you know where they made some money? On my trade-in. Although they gave me Kelley Blue Book pricing, they are still able to resell my trade and make something. It's the way it works.

It's too bad that your forum post paints Crown Honda in a bad way, because it sounds like they were open and honest with you throughout. And, what more can you ask for from a car dealer? I've never had a bad experience at Crown Honda.
