View Full Version : Some Honda's from London
Spades 06-04-2006, 07:10 PM Well, I just got back from my honeymoon and I thought I would share some pictures I took of Hondas while in London. Nothing too exciting and I'm sorry to say that I wasn't able to get a picture of a Honda dealership there. Oh and the last car picture is just for fun.

Spades 06-04-2006, 07:12 PM I like these little cars. Yet, I saw a dealership have an advertisement for used versions starting at 3,000 pounds and the currency exchange at the time was 1 dollar = .52 pounds
Spades 06-04-2006, 07:14 PM Finally -- I don't have a picture, but gas was 96.9 pence (.969 pounds) per litre as of this past Saturday just outside of central London.
flcma99 06-04-2006, 07:52 PM Always cool to see different Honda's that aren't available to us in The States. Some of them are quite cool. Makes you wonder way American Honda doesn't have a more complete lineup.
BenjiBoy650 06-04-2006, 08:26 PM Spades, hope you know those cars are for sale in Canada?

OwAce 06-05-2006, 03:51 AM there is a place in NY that has 8-10 of them as decoration pieces. fully functional.
Spades 06-05-2006, 04:55 AM I didn't know those little cars were in Canada! I would love to drive one but it would probably be a little scary as well.
There was one Honda that I didn't get a picture of that I thought was really cool. I'll try to look it up later but maybe some of you will know what it was -- it was a small car no larger than the US Civic, probably smaller, and it had a curvy look in the front with headlights going all across the front.
I saw a CR-V that pretty much looked identical to the US version. All in all, I didn't see many Hondas. I saw a lot of Mercedes, BMW's, and Vauxhalls. While there were a few strange and cheap looking Mercedes, I was surprised by how many S Classes I saw considering how expensive it is to live there.
I was paying around $60 a night for dinner and eating at places like TGI Fridays for two. I was buying 8 ounce glass bottles of Coke in restaurants for $5. We used the train system but had we rented a car, we would have have to pay a weekday city tax to drive plus pay $84 PER NIGHT to park at the hotel we were staying at!
dragoncoach 06-05-2006, 05:19 AM We did Europe last year and really didn't see very many Honda's at all. London had very few as Ford is very strong as well as a few other European makes. We saw a few more in Paris but parking is so bad, there is a large abundance of the Smart cars as well as anything small. Gee, you should see the way they shoehorn the cars into spaces! Talk about USING your bumper! As a side note, a lot of the cars are diesel. Really quiet and you can't really smell the exhaust like in US diesels. Not sure how clean burning they are though.
Pilot4Life 06-05-2006, 05:33 AM Spades you saw a european Civic. Same car, different look.

I'm pretty sure that what he posted was the last generation Civic.
Spades 06-05-2006, 06:10 PM Thank you, Karen. That was it!
Bladeh 06-12-2006, 08:01 PM I like the UK Honda Accord more than the North American version, it may lack the power but it looks sharper. Honda's are more of a luxury line back in England, more of an executive company car.

Back seats too cramped to fit big Americans!
Lol :D

It is the "luxury" Acura TSX here in the States. A nice badge engineering job.

Some Americans fit in the back seat of the TSX. We have some nice ones at the office - keeping their bigger American cousins company :lmao: .
