NOTE:

When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.

Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
Tilt the steering column down.
Remove the screws, and detach the clips, then carefully remove the instrument panel (A).
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Thanks! I didn't get to see this before I tried to do it blindly...but the placement of the screws made sense design-wise. The clips were a little harder to detach - I later found that they had probably used some glue there. I took it out with a screwdriver.

old thread, i know. but, is this what is needed to get behind the instrument panel to get to the various light bulbs? the trip/odom bulb has gone out and i want it replaced.

if this isn't the thread, is it the other that tells you about removing basically the entire dash board apart

This IS how you get to it....there's no other instructions. After removing the outer bezel, you'd simply detach & remove the board with the gauges on it. Here the back with bulb watts.
