Hello all,
I have a 03 v6 ex with a 6 disc changer and the lights just went out on the radio. Do you think that I can get a good will warranty replacement or am I screwed? I thought I had one of the lucky ones after so many miles but I guess I was wrong. Any suggestions as to what I should say to the dealer (didn't buy it there) or Honda of America?

go to dealer, and hope for the best......

if the dealer won't goodwill the repair for you, try contacting the regional office where you are located..... i think that there's a map of the offices in the back of the owner's manual still......

I wouldn't even bother with your dealer. Call corporate and they will take care of you. Tell them you want it "Good Willed" and they should let the dealer know to do it for free.

Corporate will tell you to get it diagnosed first...yes I know it's stupid, but I'm telling you from other first hand accounts that's probably what they're going to do.

Go print out a copy of the TSB (from the section here in these forums), and take that with you. Check out your VIN to make sure it fits within the ranges on that TSB, then WRITE DOWN YOUR VIN on that TSB printout, and take it to your dealer. That might help whole bunches...

Well, went to the dealer yesterday and they told me they wouldn't good will it on their own. They told me to call honda and see if they will do it so I will be calling them tonight.

Good news! Honda is going to fix it under warranty. I talked to a rep and she was really helpfull, she ended up talking to the dealer and they put my new unit on order.

Same thing happend to me...

My extended warrenty covered it - so I didn't have to go the Honda Corp route -- but I was prepared.

Here is a link to the TSB and the conversation from there:

My display works fine but now I'm down to discs 1 and 6 working less than 10% of the time, and the others less than that. I think it's finally time for me to call...hopefully I can get my issue 'goodwilled' as well.
