whats up everyone? I have a 97 prelude SH. My mother just gave me her 02 accord ex-V6, 35K miles, which is completly loaded. Bad news is that it has been in an accident and it feels like it needs a new tranny. I was wondering, if it was possible to tranny swap it with a 5 speed or 6 speed manual? It'll will be great if someone can help me out with this. Thanks alot

well, you're talking about a ton of work doing a tranny swap and conversion from A/T to M/T..... not sure what the steps are that are involved tho....

some of the others should be able to chime in here, to give you a better idea.....

The only thing that would fit to a J30 that I could imagine is a CL/Accord 6-speed. Good luck getting parts for that...probably cost you 2-3K just for the parts, if not more.

Parts are 4k and another 2k in labor. Look on V6performance.net if you want instructions. There are several guys who have done this.

What kind of accident was the car involved in? Is it a salvaged car? If not, take it back to Honda, they may goodwill replace the tranny.

If the car is salvaged, your going to have to buy a new tranny on your own.
