New to forum--just found it today--and have searched through, but missed any recommendations for service of my '04 V6 Accord in the Seattle Area. I have roughly 20K on it, so far okay, some annoying A-pillar/window jiggles as noted elsewhere. Had dealer try to fix but creaking persists. Today is the first time I've heard of the tranny problem--have noticed the beginning of some slight whining when coasting, will have to monitor as there is no real problem yet.

Really interested in anybody's recommendations for service for my car. Have been to dealer but frustrated with inconsistencies with service done, expectations and documentation.

Also, has anyone replaced spark plugs already. Had one mechanic say that no matter what the manual says, should replace plugs and tranny fluid much before Honda's recommendations. Wants to charge 350-400 for 30K/2yr service which includes plugs and tranny fluid.

He's right about the tranny fluid. You should change it as often as possible, for me I think 20K would be a good interval depending on the color of the fluid I see coming out and of course how the transmission feels. As for spark plugs, I think it is not so important to change them as it is to loosen them once in a while. I think the fear is that they will be basically stuck in there and possibly cause a ton of damage. Otherwise, they are good until Honda's recommended interval.

My tranny whines too...never thought much of it :dunno:
