They (Honda Corp. of Canada) called me about a week or two after I picked up the car...gave the dealership around 4/5 and 5/5 in knowledge but only a 3/5 in the overall experience (would you shop there again type of question) as they basically screwed me over on my pickup date and my sales rep was unreachable for 24hrs surrounding this date (when I did get him he said he'd call me back soon with more info...didn't hear from him for 3 days past my pickup date telling me he didn't know when it was coming in).

Needless to say Honda Corp. called the Dealership and then the Dealership called me fairly unhappy/worried about what I had said about them.

HMMMM.........I've never received anything at all from Honda regarding the purchase experience.

I received a mail-in survey from HONDA a few weeks after purchase.. My dealer survey of the "Buying Experience" was never sent in because I couldn't say anything nice about them.. They were nice as pie until they had found the color I wanted at a dealer 40 miles away. Then the procrastination game began. to busy to go it, ect. Needless to say if I wanted the Accord in Eternal Blue Pearl, I would have to go forward with the deal. I was real nice and did not beat them up on price. I explained when I first talked to them that I was AWARE of holdbacks, and factory to dealer INCENTIVES. They seemed very willing to do business with these understandings. I accepted their first offer.

I still don't have much to say good about them, there service dept is very average, always trying to sell you something else. They must own a Jiffy Lube! :lmao: :lmao: Never a followup call from the salesman or sales manager.

I don't want to piss them off, in case something needs "goodwill" in the future.

You should have put out the truth. By holding back no one benefits at all.

I wrote a scathing review of the dealer when I bought an '03 Corolla. As expected they called and I explained to the store manager (in person) the problems that the dealership caused and did not remedy. He took care of every problem on the spot, including getting my car in the shop right then. He pulled someone off of what they were doing and told the service manager to report to him when all items were rectified, which he did. In short they took care of everything immediately and offered a few free oil changes which I delclined. Upon future service visits I got the royal treatment.

Had I said nothing then nothing would have happened. At the request of the manager I called Toyota (I chose to do so from from his desk) and explained that all had been taken care of above and beyond the call. I insisted that the speakerphone be on so all concerned could have their say. He who doesn't speak up just gets run over.

It's not that they are a terrible dealer. Just extremely average. A bit arrogant, and everyone just looks bored, while they are going through the motions. :blah: :smilemad: :grumpy:

I would never do business at a dealership that didn't show they wanted to "earn my business".

My local dealer has wanted my business for years, but never could get there on price. After some management changes, this time they did get there on price and the expereince was wonderful. For once, I got the price I wanted and didn't have to travel into the city. I felt a little bad about not offering my business to our former dealer, after buying six Honda's from them, but even they had started playing the MSRP plus dealer fee game as a starting point for "negotiations". And, their online quotation system was not working properly. My dealer and saleman rated all "5"s on my survey. And, I would recommend them to friends and family.

well, it's funny you should say that. when i was getting ready to call around for prices a few weeks ago, everyone was telling me, "call dealer A, tell them dealer B got you price X and see if they can match it. most of them will--they want to earn your business".

the first dealer i called (by recomm from a friend) gave me a decent price. (not what they promised at first, but still ok). every dealer i called afterwards and quoted the price to came back with "wow, that's a really good deal. you should probably buy there while they're still offering".

so much for earning my business :)
