Hi i have a 98 accord with 149k and there is this screeching, grinding noise coming from the rear passengers side, well i went to tire kingdom and had them check it out and they say i need rotors and pads, and the job was going to be about $400, well i am a college student on a budget and cant afford that right now lol, i was wondering if any one has a walk through on how to DIY , any comments would be greatly appreciated :)

Why not get a few more estimates? It's not like a few pictures could guide you through such a repair.

Well if you really want to do it yourself I'd go see if I could find a helms or equivalent shop manual for the car...it should have all the info you need, however depending on your skill set you may or may not be able to do the work yourself.
Like texas said go check out a few more dealerships...and if they are all still out of your range go look into getting a helms for your car if you think you can do it yourself.

You need a big big freakin screwdriver...my neighbor is a mechanic and he got lucky and barely had a tool that made it work. I don't think you need new rotors either...
