A good paint job can run you over $2000 easy. That includes sanding, primer, 3 coats of paint, 2 clearcoats. The cheapy $300 paint jobs from Maaco is only wash and 1 layer of paint and one layer of clearcoat over the existing paint (not worth it, IMO).

Please, Please and Please stay away from Maaco and Earl Shib (if its still around). Personal Experience.

Spend $500 on a local paint/bodyshop to do the work. Your car isn't worth spending more than that on a repaint. Get yourself a basic education on repainting, ask questions, then pull the trigger. Likewise, you may find that the entire car doesn't need to be repainted.

I just bought a 2006 Accord. I had a 2000 white taffeta Accord Coupe. The paint job was horrible. I had it waxed every month up until the end. It is not worth paying for a paint job. The paint job is sooooooooooo bad. Yuck!

My Preludeis in the procress of getting redone. It's costing between $2500-$3000. I did strip the car myself of windows, bumper, light, reinforcements, molding, mirrors and what not. It all depends on how good of job you want done.
