So did some looking around and most of the discussion with the well documented changes in the 2010+ models have to do with people wanting the ambient light, S/R light or the glove box light.
While the changes never bothered me, I realized how boring my interior looked once I saw a 2008/09. I mainly liked the sliver/chrome accents on the vent adjusters (as seen on 2010+ exl rear vents) and the silver/chrome e-brake button.
Anyone know/try to switch these parts out on their 2010+?
Thanks

This has irked me from day one as well. You'll need to swap the entire e-brake lever from an LX (at least they've still got the chrome release button,) and not sure on the front dash vents (as far as models go that have the silver accent on the adjuster.)
I've been contemplating the e-brake handle for a while now. You've now sparked my interest even further with the dash vent swap.
I say, let's do it.
Edit: I've already swapped the upper center section unit that has the ambient lamp, but have yet to get it wired in. That's on my "to do" list this spring as well...

Where did you get the ambient light for above the dash? I think I read here that it can't be done or something with the wiring that is no longer in that location. I have an 11 EXL and unfortunately do not have the ambient above and would love it. I don't use the garage door opener (I think they call this homelink) and would prefer the light. Any insight you could provide would be great.

I've got no insight on the wiring at the moment, as I've yet to tackle it. But it shouldn't be that big a deal to run switched power to it.
I bought it new from one of the online dealers. It's just a module you replace, you don't have to give up home-link to install it (i.e. plug-n-play fitment.)
yeah i miss the ambient light and the lighted sunroof controls my 08 had.. MackDaddy if you get the wiring figured out, pass on that info please lol

So I'm thinking I might paint them. They dont come off so I would need to creatively tape up what I don't want painted. I've never painted automotive plastic. Any particular type of paint I should consider? Would brushing it on v spraying work. I'm concerned with spray paint in the car.

I'd brush. Creative taping, and paint from a hobby store (along with good brushes) will be your best friends...

Maybe I don't know what you're talking about, buy my 2012 EX-L has a silver button the the e-brake as well as on the A/C vents.
