Ok, so of the three or four things that really need to be fixed on my car, this is the only one I really believe I stand a chance of actually being able to successfully accomplish.
I have no idea why, but some time ago the weatherstripping around the top of the driver's side door and on the B-pillar of the same entry portal have torn in a few places and need to be replaced. Estimates put total cost to fix at around $250. So I'm thinking perhaps I can just buy the part and install it myself.
So my question is:
Am I going to need any special tools, glue, or anything not found in the average male's toolbox? (screwdrivers, pliers, monkey wrench etc.)
And:
Is this something that a person who has never worked on a car other than the odd screw-tightening would be able to do? I work well at taking things apart and putting them back together again, I just have not done so with my automobile.
Thanks.
