i just bought a CAI for my coupe and im souped to install it until i read a post about getting car washes and than my heart sank lol

has any accords had issues with CAIs? where the radiator is theres a quite large opening so i wondered whos has issues if any

I'm not asking will i be safe will i hydro lock , personally dont think I will .. getting car washes not enough water gets submerged on my AEM filter ..

but i am curious what do u guys run and have u had any issues or neevous feelings running what u have

Short ram here (K&N) runs pretty good here in unpredictable rainy south FL, which I hardly doubt I will have any issues with a short ram intake... on the other hand if you are lowered and depends on you local weather...

even if your washing your car and your intake gets wet from the hose. its not like anything will happen anyway, the car isnt running its not tryng to suction up the air

i got the takeda cai on the 09 sedan i4. no issues with it, and it increased my overall mileage (after i got over pushing the throttle hard)

I put in my AEM intake last June. I've driven through rain ever since then (there's only about 100 days a year here without some rain).

I've put 10,000 miles on my Accord since I installed the AEM intake. I've never had an issue, and you can't always avoid the puddles or trenches when the road is covered in water.

I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it; if there's enough water to hydrolock YOU SHOULDN'T BE ON THE ROAD DRIVING EVEN WITHOUT AN INTAKE. It would take more than a few inches of standing water; trust me I've driven through some s*#t weather many times. Be smart, don't take your Accord froadin' and you'll be golden.

^^^ lol whoops .. would be cool though it migh b able to b done though make one of thoseb ad boys a SRI lol

@jon .. your right and i agree with what you say.. i was cleaning my car today and i took a peak of where the CAI will sit and its pretty protected.. between the under body theres a couple of holes but nothing big.. than the radiator opening theres enough space where the intake will b tucked away

If you have a CAI during a rain storm don't tail gate.. i was tailing the crape out of a 370 buddy of mine 1 night it wasnt even raining hard ... we stop to get some gas started the car and the CEL came on and stayed on to the next day so be careful had mine for almost 2 years that was the problem i have had like it alot

CAI in the 11 coupe i4 here. Works great. I've never had any problems with water. Ive gone over some pretty deep dips in the road with standing water and I've still never had a problem. I try not to accelerate if I ever get in a bad situation, and I've only been in like a couple of risky situations with water in over a year. I love my CAI. I have videos of how it sounds down below.

INJEN CAI, never had a problem with hydrolock on any of my cars with CAI, just don't floor the car when driving through a puddle
