I'm thinking about picking up a brand new 40" LCD TV today. Only question is... will it fit? :naughty::thmsup:

I'm thinking it won't fit through the pass-thru, so I'll probably have to lay the passenger seat flat, and somehow jam it into the rear seat/passenger front area.

Yeah. the passenger seat might work best. Or if your back seats fold down (not sure if they do on yours?)

I fit a 55" in the 05' sedan. It wasn't easy and thank god the store was close. If they weren't two of us in the car it may have been easier.

I brought home a 42" Plasma in my '04. Seats down, had to come out of the box, flat on its backside with screen up. No worries.

I selected the 46" above, but it was a 43" LG LCD, in the box, accross the back seat of my 03 sedan, seat not folded down. I think a 46" would have made it, but it may have had to come out of the box. It was 20 miles away, and I didn't want to drive my POS truck there.

I fit a 32" in the back trunk of my coupe with no problems years ago. That was inside of the box.

Bring extra blankets if you have to take it out of the box.

I did fit 46" by folding backseat without removing it from box. That is the max.

DO NOT LAY IT FLAT......

My sister was transporting a TV, laid it flat in her SUV and when she got home the screen had sagged and it developed a dark spot in the middle.

I agree. But I do believe it is for plasma screens and not LCD and LED LCDs but why risk it? I always haul new TVs and many other things in our Odyssey. Excellent vehicle to carry things...

Transporting in it's original box? Probably not.

When you order from amazon, I'm sure it had been upside down, took a few tumbles and what not. This is why you keep the box if you are a frequent mover or apt dweller.

Well, I know for a fact that a 46" Samsung in the box will fit because I had to pick one up from UPS a year or two ago. You will have to open the back doors and slide the front seats forward then slide it in with the bottom part sitting down by the footwell. To close both doors, I had to push pretty hard.

LCD/LED can lay down. You shouldn't ever lay a plasma down, sure there is a chance that nothing will happen, but it could ruin your tv due to the gases being moved in a way they're not suppose to. So if you're getting an LCD/LED it should fit in your car no problem.

update: I managed to get the brand new Sony 40" LCD in the Accord with little trouble. I ended up folding the passenger front seat flat, and laying the box in the back seat diagonally. The box was resting on the back of the center console. I think a 46" would have fit too, but with considerably more effort.

This is my first HDTV
