On my 2002 ex, the drivers side window control on the drivers door will always be illuminated displaying AUTO even if the lights are turned off. It only turn off when I open the door. Odd that it would always be on, but I can live with that.
What confuses me is that the other powerwindow switches on the drivers door, and every other door's respective switch do not illuminate (when the headlights are on). It looks like there is an indentation for a light to shine through on the tip of the controls, but no light is ever shone through. To add to the matter, consumer guide shows that for the 2002 model year, illuminated PW switches were added. Is this true? Could it just be a bad fuse? Is this even a feature on the 2002 Accord?
Thanks for all help!

Here is what I found:
2001 Honda Accord: V6 models got standard traction control for 2001. Passenger-side front and side airbags were now designed to automatically deactivate if seat-mounted sensors detect that a passenger is too small or out of position. All models received subtle restyling, and all but the DX sedan got lighted power-window switches. Also for 2001, EX V6s added standard automatic climate control, in-dash CD changer, and 4-way power passenger seat; 4-cylinder EXs got in-dash changers, while LXs were upgraded to 6-speaker audio with a single-disc in-dash player.
2002 Honda Accord: Addition of a popularly equipped SE model signaled 2002 as the final model year for the current Accord design. EX versions gained steering-wheel audio controls this year. Accord would be redesigned for 2003.
I looked at several 02 accords on ebay.. as far as I can tell only the drivers window switch has a light in it, everything else has a small indentation for gripping the switch, I have an 01 EX and the only thing that lights up is the driver side power window switch..

I see. It seems that CG was wrong, as I originally suspected in this case. Oh well.
Is there any reason why the drivers power window control has to light up to display AUTO even if the lights aren't on, and even when the car is off?

Because it's easier that way...your clock light is the same way.

Yeah I noticed that as well.
Guess that's why the clocklights have such a nasty habbit of going out.

This is weird, but I came across Honda's official press release for the 2002 model year and this line was written in:
"The Accord LX features a six-speaker AM/FM stereo with in-dash CD player. Body-colored side moldings and illuminated power window switches are standard on all LX and EX Sedan models. "

Not familiar with the 6th gen, but on my 7gen when the switch light illimunation is in the state as you described it's b/c the window lock is turned on. Could be different from the different generations, but it's worth a shot.
