: Is This Supposed to Be the New Interior....?

If so, seems to me like Honda took the current TSX interior, made a few light changes and placed it in the 9th generation Accord.

That's the Euro Accord aka TSX in U.S.

Thanks for the clarification. Honda needs to release interior shots of the new Accord ASAP.

My '07 Accord LX Coupe got hit really bad by the recent hailstorm in Maryland Heights, MO and my insurance declared it a total loss. So as of yesterday I got a new 2012 Accord EX-L Coupe. The interior looks 95-98% like the above image in the first post.

Congrats on the LX to EX-L upgrade!

Take a closer look at your interior and the pics bro.... theres not a way in the world anyone could say they are 98% similar. Your accord has different seats, a completely different steering wheel, a different shifter (I'm assuming you have a manual), different air vents, different arm rest, COMPLETELY different center stack, somewhat similar gauge cluster. I could go on and on. Yes it's similar in that it's the same car when you rip every single panel
off, but that's kind of the point.

I just hope the leather is better than in our 8th gens.

I'm actually hoping the i-mid makes it in, somehow.

TheGandalf

I am pretty sure i-mid will be present. I wonder if honda will have something to match ford 's custom central display or even nissan 's for that matter. I think they won't. This wouldn't be a deal breaker though...

my only complaint on my 8th Gen Coupe is that the front seats don't move back a couple more inches. with the tilt/telescoping wheel, the seats could be given a couple more inches of travel for us 'tall people'.

the front legroom is good, but could be MUCH better.

I totally agree with you even in the sedan 1 or even 2 more inches would be great

Looks good. Way too much fancy stuff for a standard American Accord.

That dash set up is HORRIBLE but follows suit with Honda messing up their image!

I like it better than the idiotically hideous menu/touchscreen driven setups. Yeah, they are fun to screw around with, not so useful in reality (for the driver, passengers will eventually get bored, too).

I think it is designed more to be less usable when driving, the shift is to keep people focusing on "the road" so making it harder to use stack while driving will make people not try as much and actually drive. The only thing you really need to change at all while driving (at least myself) is the temperature, which even with touchscreen still have knobs and the volume which is on the steering wheel anyway.

For music I just plug my iPhone in select an artist or playlist and drive to work. Simple and don't have to worry about much except for driving.

I think the interior looks great, tbh. It looks a lot cleaner than the 8th gen, and it looks like the materials are better as well- (i.e. it looks like almost the whole dash is soft).

That pic is identical to my 2012 TSX (minus the suede seat inserts)

If you mean the first picture, it is indeed the same as your TSX. The picture is from the Euro Accord. There are other pictures or links to pictures on this thread that do belong to the 9th gen.

I love the seating postion in my 8th gen sedan. If the steering wheel, armrest and shifter aren't in the right position, I'll right any car off. For example I hate cars with shifters close up on the dash like the Civic's. Looking at the pics above I think I'm safe. Looks pretty close to 8th gen postion wise. I'm liking what I am seeing so far. But I need to sit in one.

It is very similar. Lots of changes, but if you showed a non-car person both they wouldn't see much difference.

I usually agree with you, but in this case I don't see how someone wouldn't be able to tell the dashboards apart. I would concede that a quick look to the pictures of the front would confuse a non car person between the 8th gen and the 2013 Accord...

Having an opinion is not being a troll. The dash is fugly, in typical Honda style on how to ruin a vehicle. The center section continues to get uglier which each generation. And it is similar to the 8th gen with controls in the middle and a screen up top. Honda is still trying to make their dash look like a BMW, but failing miserably. The only difference is that the stereo system is even uglier than the 8th gen. With this generation, it looks like Honda made sure the stereo cannot be replaced with an aftermarket. I am sure many will not be pleased with that decision, since Honda stereos are pretty lousy in sound quality. But don't bash someone because they think it is an ugly dash. They have a right to their opinion.

A non-car person? Are you talking about the Amish? The dashboards are identical. The difference is that the 9th gen has uglier controls than the 8th gen.
