Well I got sick of the yellowish lights pretty quickly; they look like they arent getting enough power or something, not very attractive so I installed white leds & removed the blue tint/paint on the back of the gauges.. here is the result -- sorry for the blurry pic, no light + no flash = blur

I also did my HVAC controls, clock & odo (odometer still has the blue 'filter' so it lights up blue but it's a nice color so I think i'll keep it)

well like you said that pic is extremely blurry but from what I can see it looks pretty good...kinda similar to what the 7th gen coupe dashes look like (all its missing are the little red lines between the white ones on the speedo).

Yeah I like how the newer ones look, I just wanted something brighter and not so "dirty" looking

I think I like it. Can you take a few more pics and try to hold the camera really steady?

Ok here are some more pics.. hopefully these are easier to see for everyone.. :)

Now that I have some nail polish remover I plan on taking the hvac controls out again and removing the blue on the fan control knob; it looks out of place.. I may also need to do the same for the temp control but i'm afraid of damaging the color =/

Looks good. Is there still a little bit of the blue tint at the top of the speedo?

Looks like you still have some blue tint there at the top of the speedo...

I think it's because of the LED.. it's a single LED and it doesn't have a really wide angle; the brighter spots are right where the bulbs are at; the top isn't quite as strong -- white leds usually have a blue tint, it doesn't look blue in person but you can tell it's a little dimmer than the rest.. I think the camera exaggerates it a tad..

Don't the 6th gens have green LCD backlighting?

Correct you are sir.. the filter itself is blue or blueish; the stock bulbs are white/yellowish.. but when you use a white led, which has a blueish tint, the screens turn blue.. I'm guessing because the stock bulbs aren't a pure white, more like a yellowish color, so the yellow + blueish = greenish.. but bright white/blueish + blueish = more blueish!

I came across this (http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=71207&page=2&pp=30&highlight=LED+conversion) thread at work and tried it out when I got home.. the only thing that made me really nervous was taking off needles; I managed to do the speedo w/o removing the needle, but I took the tach needle off and I'm wishing I didn't now, it's pretty close to accurate I think; but it kinda sticks for a moment in the upper rpm range.. I may have just pushed it down too far and it's getting stuck on the gauge face.. i'm going to work on it some more and see if I can get it back to normal..

You pushed it too far...people with EL gauges have the same problem (gauges are thicker and cause the needles to stick)

How tough was it to get to the odometer light? Does it use the same little LED light that the Clock light uses?

Both were burned out when I bought my 2002 Accord. I replaced the clock light quite easily, but I am afraid to start ripping into the dash, let alone to find out I need to order a special led to replace the odo.

They're not LEDs from the factory; they are mini/micro halogens.. The odometer light uses a different bulb than the clock, it uses a small wedge bulb (the clock uses one of the ones w/ the long leads that you have to wrap around)

I don't know what the bulb sizes are.. I would like to find out; all of the indicator lights are the same size in the gauge cluster, but the primary bulbs that lightup the gauges are pretty big.. I'm trying to find out what the replacement bulb numbers are so I can try and buy some pre-made LEDs for them.. I found some inverted LEDs that only direct light out of the sides and i'm hoping it would resolve the 'hotspot' issue.. so if anyone knows the replacement bulb #s please lemme know!! :)
