Now I don't drive my 03 accord any more, but my wife does. She got a new job, and every morning, she has to go through deep fog. I promised her to install fog light for her. I searched ebay and found out that aftermarket OEM-type fog lights are available (Those wern't available when I bought 03 accord in 2002).

I searched through this forum. After review of pros and cons, I decided to go with aftermarket one. I heard that fogs from "vertex racing" can be installed just like genuine with instruction from H&A and with real honda relay. If anybody bought fog kit from them, could you guys let me know if that was yellow one or clear one? From the picture, it seems like that the parts for the yellow one looks same as genuine parts, but the clear one shows some odd parts.

yellow fog light from ebay seller "vertex racing" (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04-05-HONDA-ACCORD-4D-4DR-OEM-JDM-AMBER-FOG-LIGHTS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33709QQihZ001QQi temZ110007883227QQrdZ1)
clear fog light (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04-05-HONDA-ACCORD-4DR-OEM-FOG-LIGHTS-SE-FOGLIGHTS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33709QQihZ019 QQitemZ290006159859QQrdZ1)

Does any body know if that kit comes with paper templates for making a hole in the front bumper? If not, would it be possible to purchase those templates only from the dealer?

Thanks.

My fog lights were from Vertex racing too. I bought clear lights. Yes they come with templates.
But I don't recommend aftermarket foglights. Go back and read thread i left earlier about this foglights. But in the end it's all up to you... Good luck

Thanks! That is strange though. I just got a pm reply from CA05LXDriver, and he said that they come with relay. I remember he said that all the parts are same as genuine except one of the relays. Yours didn't come with relays? Yes, we need relays. Fog lights can be legally turned on only with low beams.

I searched the forum, and found out that those who got the fog lights from vertexracing have reported relay problem. With provided relay, the fog only turns on with high beam. Examining fog light circuit diagram, now it makes sense. The grey relay from genuine honda is always closed, and if there is a current for high beam, the switch opens and cuts the current for the fog light. Assuming all the other wirings are identical as genuine parts, since the kit come with two identical relays (see red line in the modified diagram), now the fog turns on only with high beam. I think the easy fix might be tapping white/green wire to red/green wire as shown as blue line. This way, the fog lights will turn on with low beam, however it won't automatically turn off with high beam, which is illegal. :naughty:

The honda dealer quote for the genuine relay was ~$45, which is ridiculous. I can buy a similar relay for a few bucks from the radioshack and modify the connector.
