What to do with the top banner ads?

The rotating banners have been up over a year and made $0.00, nadda, squat, so I'm going to pull them. Especially because some members have some problems with them crashing their browser.

Any recommendations what I might put up in their place, if anything: random members pictures, ??? or just delete the whole panel and "Fergetaboutit"?

My vote is just leave it empty and get rid of it. "KISS"...less loading times, no complaints of crashing, etc :thmsup:

if they made nothing, i vote for just getting rid of it altogether and saving precious load time. :D i dont mind the google ads though.

I guess my vote goes to removing it completely as well....I mean if it had been making money then it would have been more than worth it but if its made $0...

Outside of that...maybe find a way of using the area to show any new TSB or "late breaking news" information...kinda like a RSS feed tickertape :dunno:

I say drop it as well. One thing I notice when going to the forums is when loading everything it hits the banner at the top and sticks for a minute trying to load. Sometimes I have to hit the reload button just to get it to go. Get rid of it for sure, and if you want to put something there, do something that isn't going to make loading last longer.

So wait a minute, you've been making $0 off the banner ads?

YOu mean that absolutely no one clicks on them and they don't pay you per impression?

If you really want ads to support the site, I'd suggest you charge per impression, not per click.

The banner still says "What would you like to see here? Nothing?" I vote to either put more ads there or just get rid of it altogether.

theres no way youve made absolutley 0....i know ive clicked it a couple times on accident...let alone how many times other ppl might have accedently clicked on them



if it actually says 0..as in you havent made a cent since last year, you might want to see if the code is correct..because i know from experience that google ads pay of ..even slow traffic sites get atleast a dollor a day

I see an ad for a Volvo S80 right there now. Lik everyone else, I'd prefer to see nothing, but a Volvo ad is like adding insult to injury. I love my Honda! I vote Honda sponsor or no sponsor!
