New here, need opinion

Hello everyone
I am currently looking at a 1998 Honda Accord EX with sunroof and need you opinion about this car. It has 170,000kms and asking $7995 plus I have a trade.

My biggest fear is the transmission, I have heard numerous problems with the Odyssey's and Accord's transmission, but I am not sure which year or is it the 5-speed auto only that's the problem. Thanks

This is one of the ones that had auto trans problems. The V6's have more problems than the I4 (because they put more stress on the transmission, more weight and more power). But if it's a well maintained car with all records, it should be okay, though the price seems a tad high to me (I converted the price to USD, I'm assumed it's CAD?)

Did Honda had an extra warranty or recall on those transmissions?

In America they had a 7 year 100K mile (160,000KM) transmission warranty extension on 2000-2001 models ONLY. In some cases, Honda will still cut a deal with you for a bad transmission ie. you pay labor Honda pays parts.

Yes much better :) I've ground up my first and reverse gear, and no signs of it going bad...second gear syncro is a bit notchy but you'll find that pretty much on every Honda.
