View Full Version : My New White 02 Coupe!
FarmMaster 07-20-2006, 07:42 PM Hey all I just joined a few days ago and thought I would show off my new car that i have come to love these last few weeks. It had 55k on it when I bought it and is in almost perfect condition. I can't decide if I want to put rims on it yet, but am pretty sure I will put some sort of tint on it any suggestions? Anyways here is the only picture I have so far, hope it works.
Pilot4Life 07-21-2006, 04:48 AM You have a beautiful 'previously-loved' Honda! That white really shines well, has it been waxed recently? The Paint looks nice. Since you recently purchased the Accord, I'd like to give some advice to you about a common issue with that model, and how to prevent it :).
The Automatics in the 98-02 Accords are common to failure, and usually it's becuase someone didn't change the transmission fluid regularly. So here's some advicce which hopefully will be helpful to you.
1. Always use the Honda ATF, some on here have tried others, but most will tell you that the honda fluid is a better choice seeing as if I remember correctly it states to 'only' use Honda ATF in the owners manual. Plus, should anything happen to your transmission, I'd think a trannie changed with honda ATF would have more of a chance to qualify for a free or reduced cost goodwill replacement. To learn more about goodwill replacements and read about others' experiences use the search feacher of the forum and try the word Transmission, and possibly Transmission Failure.
Do the changes of fluid every 30k, and assuming the previous owner did the maitenance :paranoid: what means 60k would be time for new fluid.
I'm sorry if all of this is scaring you, but I'd just like to share some info if you didn't already know all of this .

bchguy111 07-21-2006, 10:12 AM Nice Car. Great color. I almost got the same car. I was going to try to save money on my payments, but instead I got a certified 04 Coupe. So, I still have a high car payment, lol. But I love my car!!!

And if the car is Honda Certified? How does that play in?
Pilot4Life 07-26-2006, 04:15 AM And if the car is Honda Certified? How does that play in?
Well if the car is Honda Certified, then the drivetrain is covered until the car reaches 7 years of age, or 100,000 miles.
Your car may be under an extended warranty issued by Honda becuase of this issue. I'd look through the TSB section of the forum :).
Hope that helps a bit,
Karen
FarmMaster 07-26-2006, 07:09 PM From what they told me I still had Drivetrain warrenty on it, and then i paid a little extra to get the 3 year 36000 mile extended warrenty, and from what I can tell if anything breaks on the car I can get it fixed as if it was a new car.
Anyways, still loving my first car! Here are some night shots and one day shot.
