check engine light

Hello Guys
i own a accord 96 (5 speed) when the tank is low in gas the check engine light comes on ,then i have to disconnect the battery to remove it ,is that normal?

Well first, next time that light comes on have the code read.

Seccond, sounds like a faulty gas cap, but it could be a billion other things seeing as you don't have a code from it. Usually resetting and having it come back on means a problem, a problem of which can't be answered without a code. :yes:

Let us know what the code is.
