There is also another sort os hesitation, but it happens only once after you cold start the engine. Apparently this is VTEC kicking in for the first time and the engine cuts out for just a split second when it does so. It happens on my 112K mi. Accord, and it happened to my friend's 02 Accord when he drove it off the lot with 12 miles on it.

Does this notice only apply to 4cyl? I also feel a slight hesitation when I accellerate from stop. Wasn't sure if this was normal auto transmission behavior or not. I have 99 EX V6.
Who do you contact for goodwill repair consideration? Your local dealer?

This bulletin is only for 4 bangers & has nothing to do with the tranny. It's the idle.

First, you'd need a diagnosis from a tech at a dealer. If it's not a normal wear item & your mileage isn't excessive, then sometimes you can talk Honda into helping you. Being a 5 year old car.....I don't know..... The proceedure would be talking to the service manager & depending on how that goes, contact Honda directly. There's pretty much no way to know anything unless they can find where the problem is, then check your car's record.....check the problem against the bulletins.....

Sorry, I can 't be more help. There's more than one thing a hesitation could be, depending on whether it's cold or warm when it happens, if there's other symptoms, if it's only at a certain RPM... the more info you have before taking it to a shop the better they can figure out what it is.

Have you kept up with your services? Dirty parts, like the throttle body can cause them to run funky. Does the RPM go up when it hesitates? Or down? Or acts normal? Have you kept up with the tranny fluid changes?

I would recommend cleaning the throttle body. Even if that doesn't cure the problem, I would imagine it has quite a few carbon deposits by now if it hasn't ever been cleaned before. This is a DIY job in my opinion. It tells how to do it in this TSB: http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=735

I think I will try cleaning the trottle body. Do those instructions apply to V6 as well?

I'm thinking maybe this hesitation is in my head now that I pay close attention to it...
