Then went to reset radio and found code card was incorrect+ wrong serial #:censored: ... called salesman I deal with:censored: system unavailable for today...:bawling: So no tunes until Monday.......

We spent about 6 hours on them yesterday....yep, most of that was on Belle. This all been done by hand. He puts a coat of #5 to start, then 3 coats of #2 when buy them. Then Belle has had about 4 more coats over the past 18 months. A guy at work was asking about Zaino & commented on how glossy she is. Well, we'd been noticing that she'd been looking less glossy than usual. It had been about 8 months since we'd done anything to her. So she got another coat. Tink only has a total of 4 so far. She'll get more this Spring. She sure seems smaller after working on Belle!! We do all this as a team, he does all the ON & I do most of the OFF.
There was a tiny red parking lot smudge on Tink's back bumper & a couple seconds of a clay bar took care of that!!
So this weekend Tink got her first Service & her first detail since the inital rounds.... She's a happy car!!
Sorry to hear about your radio codes. How did you lose them? Had you unplugged the battery? Usually the service dept. has to be open to get the info. Enjoy your tunes today, when you get them back!!

What is Zaino? What is the #5 and #2? Sorry for the silly questions, just never heard of it before.
Had my accord for just over a year, and now that it is getting nice out again, I would like to give her a special treat – maybe in a few weekends.

It's a multi-step polymer coating. It goes on & off easier than wax. To find out more visit zaino.com or zaino bros. We love the stuff! You begin with a day off coating & wiping off. We like to do 3 on fresh paint (with all the wax removed), then we occationally use the final step spray after washing & drying. I've been much better about doing that with my car the he has with the Pilot! After about 8 months of weather (his is parked outside all day at work & in a carport at home) it was starting to have a slight difference in the shine that we noticed. Apparently others didn't. We had a perfect day for detailing.... about 75 degrees. The stuff likes it hotter, but we weren't feeling like having a sweaty day.
This stuff is wonderful for dark paints because it never leaves any swirl marks. In fact, you don't use the circular motion at all. If it hadn't worked so well on the Pilot, I'd never have bought a dark Accord! We discovered it when Pilot shopping. (gathering info before we bought the Pilot) We use their car shampoo & window polish too.
If you try to windex after using their shampoo, you must clean the polymer off with alcohol before. If you don't you will get streaks.... we didn't know that at first!
Both vehicles had recently been all done on the inside, so all that time was spent on the outside. We had decided to make a day of it, just like when we waxed before.
The #5 is thicker & more for getting a build up, #2 is for that glossy shine.

It is my understanding that a dirty surface or the material used to clean the car causes the swirl marks - not the wax/polymer used. I've never heard of a wax/polymer causing swirl marks. Going in circles is not good either. If you do get some grit underneath your pad, the scratch will be in a straight line & not as visible.

true. If your pad is CLEAN & your paint is clean then it shouldn't have any swirls. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it seems that the polymer's coating makes it so when you wash.....you can't hose all the particles off....protects a little better against getting the swirl marks. The gentlest washing equipment & just plain being careful is a must no matter what you use to protect the paint from the elements!
I didn't have any swirls in my dark grey '86 & also didn't use polymer on it. She was waxed with Rain Dance Paste. She had a great shine!!
Before washing I always high pressure hose the wheel wells, under the hood & as much underneath as I can. I rewet the surface often, wash in sections, rinse, inspect, go over anything missed..... no matter what's used to protect the surface, it makes cleaning easier.....those bugs don't stick!
