View Full Version : What Acura parts are interchangeable with the Accord?

I know that the swaybars from the TL are a direct bolt-on. And you can put TL wheels on the Accord as well. But, what other parts can be used on the Accord (GEN7's) from Acura (like the TL or the TSX)?

Well for the 4 cylinder Accords there are a number of options, basically because they use a K-block and so the RSX and TSX...

I think someone over on V6P has put the TSX's intake manifold on an Accord (bigger piping), and I think a few people have taken a crank pulley from a RSX or TSX and put them on their Accord (unsure of any long term problems that might arise from that one though)...

the tsx power window switch works on the sedan.

The TSX steering wheel buttons fit the Accord EX's wheel with minor modifications. Also, the side mirrors, which we have seen a few times on this board.

The TSX Manifold does fit the I4 Accord, and someone out there, I believe, has also modified an entire TSX exhaust to fit his Accord.

Personally, I wish I could swap in the entire K24A2 engine from a TSX, but it's actually not a direct swap with the Accord's K24A4. The TSX's version of the engine is drive-by-wire, whereas the Accord's is not. Since it'd be complicated and expensive to do the full swap, I'll settle for the Intake manifold for now. I'm SO doing that. :D

Well I know this doesn't help you as you have a 2004...but the 2006 and 2007 Accords use the K24A8 which IS a DBW engine. Actually now that you have me thinking, if someone had the money and time to invest that would actually be an interesting mod to follow. Although for what that would cost, it would probably be cheaper just to turbo the engine and get around the same power (or more) as the J30A4/5 with a lot less weight.

Not to mention if anyone did this and knew how to drive stick they'd be stupid not to swap out the tranny for the TSX's 6MT. Man that would make one sweet I4 Accord.

Or, you could save money and get the TSX as it has the engine, much better handling, and nicer interior.

Swaps are expensive ambitions.

Nope, its the same in function and form factor, except they are kinda u shaped.

I only found out because I bought a tsx window and mirror controls in order to install the tsx mirrors and get the heated mirror switch.

i REALLY REALLY REALLY want that LSD, too bad it's near last on my list of mods. I have short shifter, suspension, f/r lips, fogs, intake and metal trim to do before I will want to do LSD since it is so expensive. Although I will want to do LSD before exhaust (if I do exhaust at all since I hate the fart cannon aftermarket sound of some of those huge mufflers and I would only want something very, very slightly bigger than stock.) Did it cause any problems with the VSA? How has it been doing since the install. I know you said it was an improvement but you didn't have time to really test it before.

Last night and today it's been pretty dry out. The car lays down the traction pretty good. No problems with the VSA. The main thing I think it needs next is bigger rubber. I have to wait till spring to try it on the track but I'm assuming the 60 foot will be down amount substancial and come together on the big end.(I hope) These stock pizza cutters just don't hold the power. For aftermarket exhaust I'd say the Borla system. Fairly quiet at idle and a nice tone at WOT. I don't care for the shit cannons either.

It is possible to get Seat memory somehow. Are the seats the same but only missing the memory module?

The side mirrors too? Really? I would really like to get those swapped.

Does it require much if any modifications? Would it be easier to just swap mine with the ones from the hybrid Accord instead? And finally, how much work is involved in swapping mine with either?

If you or someone else has a link to instructions or something, that would be most helpful. And thanks.

You did WHAT?! Did you actually finish this mod? I dont remember you posting a thread about it or I missed it. You did/wanted to do exactly what I want, swap for tsx mirror and retain the heated function as well, but no one else seemed interested in that part, just getting the turn signals to work.

No, I haven't done it yet. Just getting the parts in order right now. All I really need to do now is get going on it and make it work. Hopefully, in the next month I wil have some time to focus and do this.

For the person who asked if the tsx mirrors are direct fits, they are not, at least the holes don't line up on my car. I think it will be easy to drill some new holes, but just a warning.

What parts have you gotten together for it so far? Will everything look OEM and be plug and play? And how much do you think its cost so far?

And I thought the tsx mirrors were a direct bolt on for the sedans? Do you know what year mirrors you got?

The mirrors are from a 05, I think I am going to have to build some wiring harness or try to source some. However , I have the VP and don't have any wiring for the mirrors right now. I am kinda wondering if I can get some wiring harnesses from the tsx.

By the way, I noticed that the new tls have the directional signals too.
