My 2006 EX I4 Auto, did not start this morning when I got up to go to work. I did not drive the car for 6 days. And I have noticed that the longer that I dont drive the car, it takes longer to start the car, if that makes sense. This happened to me about a month ago also. When I tried to jump start the car, it didnt start the car but only turned the engine a little. So i charged the battery for 6 hours and was then able to start it. The jump start probably didnt work because I used these jumper cables were pretty flimsy.

Im guessing the problem is the battery, what do you guys think? Im charging the batter right now, and then I'm going to take it to the dealer on Monday.

A car battery should hold its charge a lot longer then that. We left our 06 sitting for 2 weeks while we were on vacation and when we got back it fired right up. Though a jump start should have worked for you. Was the car you were jumping from running?

I would take it to the dealer asap...

Yeah, the car was running, lol. But we used these flimsy jumper cables and my moms 4cyl camry so it might of not transfered enough power to the battery.

Do you have an amp installed or anything that might be staying on?

No accesories this time. The first time this happened I had a scangauge hooked up, but I later returned it because I thought it was due to that. But I guess it wasnt.

I barely drive now. I bought the car in the begining of June and have since put 1200 miles on. Also I drive the car like an old lady. I think I have went over 3500 rpms mabye once or twice.

i know that this sounds stupid, but most hondas, if you are to jump them, the positive cable goes to the battery, whle the negative cable goes to the engine....

Just got back from the dealer, and they replaced the battery. They replaced it for a different manufacturer, I cant tell the name because it is covered but hopefully I wont have any problems anymore.

On the invoice they gave me they stated the problem as: "Johnson Battery will not hold a charge. Checked charging system, Replaced Johnson Battery."

But the worst thing I saw at the dealer was the Accord wasn't represented in the showroom. They had the new crv, hybrid civc, and one of those convertibles. And the same car salesman, that sold me my car, came up to me, and tried to sell me a car. I told him, you just sold me a defective car just 4 months ago. :lmao:

The battery I had had a gauge on it when if it was green the battery was fully charged and if it was black it wasnt. The batter I know have has a red label on top and says there is a 100 month guarantee. I will try to see who makes it and post it.

What batteries do you guys have?

I have a new battery and notice a big difference already. I turned my headlights on and the cluster gauge stayed lit up as when they are without the headlights on. Before, when I turned on my headlights, the cluster gauge was dimmed by half. I always wondered why it would get dimmer when you would turn your headlights on. Oh well, im happy.

The dash lights will get dimmer when you turn on the headlights b/c the dimming switch is not on max. They dim b/c they may be too bright for night driving.

I bet if you take the switch and turn it all of the way to "Max" you will see that the light's will not dimm when you turn on the headlights.

The lights dim for "night driving" as does the Navi......

Both my TSX and Accord have the Panasonic batt. Which is the OEM part. Not sure what their giving you. Can you take a pic?

Heres the pic of the battery. Still not 100% sure if the problem is resolved. Went 3 days without driving my car and it started but didnt sound too pretty. Also when I turn the night lights on, they do not ease down like they use to before thise new battery was installed and there is no regualtion for them.
