I dont know why my car suddenly can't start. The battery is still good. Is it because of the spark plug? anybody know what wrong with it. It's still sitting in my garage. I dont know what to do with it.

Depends...what's it sound like? Is the engine turning over, is it clicking but not turning over, is it completely dead (no noise or movement), is it turning over and trying to fire but not quite getting there? Need more specifics... :dunno:

I don't think a "spark plug" is usually the culprit in a no-start situation...

Immobilizer/key gone funky...try a different key, or look for the little flashing key light on the dashboard when you try to start it.

Yeah, sounds like the key you are using went bad (too close to an electromagnetic field)......

If the engine is turning over...but not even trying to fire....try a different set of keys.

when i pull out the key the key light is flashing.

Ok here is what happen, when i go to work this morning, i cant find the master key, and i used the valet key to unlock the door and i cant start it. now that i found the master key, i still cannot start it. even the flashing orange light wont light up after i lock the door with master key. weird.

I have heard that if you use the improper key in the ignition...they computer will lock up and not let you start the car.....

Don't take this as fact though...this is what I've heard. It sounds like something is wrong w/ your valet key and it has caused your immobilizer to lock up...

This might be a dealership fix...

Did you try to unhook the battery and let it sit for a while...maybe resetting the ECU will help this problem.

i dont know if it's improper or not, but i think you should be able to start with the valet key.

the valet key will start the car (should)...I would try the battery reset first

I'd say this key issue is not an issue. I think you probably have a much more basic problem. I think if you have a key mismatch your car will start for a second, then die. It doesnt sound like that to me.

When you turn the key to you hear the fuel pump pressurize? Is it turning over slowly (low battery) or is it pretty quick?

Good luck

No, the TL will crank forever...just won't catch fire....the ignition system is disabled w/ the immobilizer....

I know first hand as when I was testing the TL, they had a key that wasn't programed. The dealer cranked that thing for 5 minutes before he decided to get another key....

will the power windows move? if not, it's likely a relay.

Thanks for the response. I had no choice, but to tow my car to the honda dealer. It turns out the immobilizer was locked and they reprogramed both of my keys. They charged me $105 for repgroam the key and another $105 to get the radio code since they battery also died and dont have the code. they also did two recall items on the car i didnt know it exist. one is no reverse condtion and another one is replace intake air breather pipe. This valet key costed me close to $300. money not well spent.

neither of the items were "recalls", they were updates. I thought they were only for '03s though. Um, I guess you now have proof that sometimes updates & bulletins apply to other years!

Wow! They sure charged you a lot!! So did they explain how it happened? Did having a "weak" battery cause the keys to lose their programming? Most of the time getting a radio code isn't a charge or just a small one. Since all they need to do is punch the VIN into the computer. The key reprogramming charge sounds about right though. Most charge an hour or so as per the flatrate.

That radio code fee is ridiculous.

I bought my car second hand and they gave it to me over the phone for free.
