I should try that in the Accord, it seems to like VTEC stiller fan 10-05-2006, 10:52 AM hey, you never know..... maybe at 5k rpm, you'll consistently break 30mpg as well??? :dunno: BenjiBoy650 10-05-2006, 10:57 AM So what, I'm supposed to drive in third gear from now on? I might try a whole tank at 4th gear...if I wasn't running this 5W-20 stuff. I wouldn't trust it to protect. stiller fan 10-05-2006, 11:09 AM hey, sometimes i'll downshift into 3rd at 70mph..... not saying that it's the best for the car tho.... but, it's fun hearing the engine screaming past slower traffic..... BenjiBoy650 10-05-2006, 11:11 AM hey, sometimes i'll downshift into 3rd at 70mph..... not saying that it's the best for the car tho.... but, it's fun hearing the engine screaming past slower traffic..... It's only fun if your car actually has power...which is not really the case here :lmao: stiller fan 10-05-2006, 11:24 AM of course, more power = more fun..... my fun is just more subdued, and takes time to maximize the pleasure, that's all.... :D Thooks 10-05-2006, 11:28 AM I've got a 95 with 150k miles. 4 cyl, 5 speed. I get about 24 MPG in town, running it decent to mid-hard. I average 28.5 MPG mixed city/highway. I can get 35 MPG babying it on the interstate, staying under 70 MPH. BenjiBoy650 10-05-2006, 11:52 AM I've got a 95 with 150k miles. 4 cyl, 5 speed. I get about 24 MPG in town, running it decent to mid-hard. I average 28.5 MPG mixed city/highway. I can get 35 MPG babying it on the interstate, staying under 70 MPH. Pretty much sums up my story at the moment, although my last tank was 31.62MPG 80% city...that was weird stiller fan 10-05-2006, 01:59 PM cooler weather benji helping out? :dunno: dads-car 10-05-2006, 02:01 PM 22MPG all city. Grr. Have not really tried highway driving over a great distance. armstrong 10-05-2006, 03:18 PM awww dang, i was really hoping these cars would get better mpg than low 20's. i have a ford taurus sho and they eat up ALOT of gas, so i'm looking for a more fuel efficent car, buuuuut i was looking at accord ex's because they are actually nice. they have leather interior and the vtec(which is actually a decent engine and has a good aftermarket). all the good gas saving cars are ugly and dont come with nice leather interior. so would you guys be able to recommend a car that looks nice (preferrably a sedan) and has leather interior AND cost under $3000? stiller fan 10-05-2006, 03:30 PM hmmmm...... i was going to suggest a certain 89 honda accord, but accord4life no longer posts here, and not even sure if he, along with pilot4life, ever existed!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: BenjiBoy650 10-05-2006, 04:32 PM Cooler weather should be hurting me, haven't adjusted the tire pressures ever since I got them up to 40PSI and the cold air should be bringing it down a bit. They feel like they're still holding air (long braking distance) and I don't need to keep it at EXACTLY 40 so I haven't gone thru the trouble. You mean Karen doesn't IM you anymore? Camry's been doing good with mileage....used the same engine since who knows when (probably the 92 redesign) and they have leather interior. They don't look bad. stiller fan 10-05-2006, 04:53 PM karen doesn't exist..... she hasn't IMed me since the day after her leaving here.... i still wonder if she was actually a woman or not.... :paranoid: and btw, i'm not the only one thinking like that either..... ItsaHonda 10-05-2006, 06:15 PM i was going to suggest a certain 89 honda accord>>> If that 89 Accord existed, it would be sitting in my driveway! :lmao: stiller fan 10-05-2006, 06:16 PM yeah, a big IF there.... :lmao: jermy4 10-05-2006, 07:11 PM You guys really owe Ben an apology. I remember him calling BS on Mike and then Karen very early on and most people gave Ben a hard time about it. I always knew there was something fishy there but when I became a mod I started paying even closer attention. Mike and Karen (or whoever they really are) didn't post from the same IP address or even the same ISP when they were supposedly at home together. The few pics I saw of their cars all looked like they were taken at different houses and then when Karen said she was in California I noticed that her ISP was still the same one she was posting from before (in san antonio). Then there was the stolen image from a craigslist ad. BenjiBoy650 10-05-2006, 07:15 PM Meh these things happen, nothing to it really. Regular users can't view IP addresses either so they couldn't have known. I think we've gotten over "Mike and Karen"... ...I just hope that this tank is another 30+ MPG one, since it looks like it will have a good chunk of freeway in it  Thooks 10-06-2006, 05:45 PM So let me get this straight. You want a $3000 car with a nice leather interior that gets 30 MPG all the time. Hmmm. Did they put leather seats in the 2004 Chevy Aveo? :dunno: What about a 2003 Ford Focus? |
