I am thinking about getting the honda mp3 player and I am curious if the MP3 functions will appear on the nav screen, like the radio/xm/cd?

I have the Honda mp3 and the NAV.... you will be able to see the song # on the navi screen. The different folders show up as disks that you can go "< >" through... Some Quirks... you can not see the song information, it will show as a CD-P on the navi screen, you will not be able to use the voice commands to control the device, every Mp3 must be in a folder of some sort. ( meaning that you can not burn MP3's directly to the disk... they must be in folders, that will show as disks on the Navi screen), Max # of songs is XXX I cant remember off hand but there is a limit of some sort.

I must say the one thing I'm so extremely disappointed about with these 2006-07 accords is the complete lack of support for iPod integration or MP3 functionality as it should be. These things shouldn't have to mimick CD changers to be seen by the stereo, and for god sakes, the $2k Navi option should allow you to see your iPod's songs on the frickin screen. The only salvation is that USA Spec makes a decent iPod kit, but still, the fact that you can't get the song titles or anything and that the stereo has to say "CD-C" with some bogus track numbers is stupid.

Just so everyone here knows, 70% of all cars sold now have the ability to interface with the iPod (text and all). Yet the Honda Accord is one of the most popular cars in the US and it can not. This is the one area where Honda really dropped the ball. Even a $10k Ford Focus will play MP3's with its native CD deck.

Honda will solve this problem in the next generation... Mp3 capability on the 6disk, full Ipod capability on all , but the navi will show more information.... This is according to a friend of mine who helped develop the programming for the navi in the next gen. According to him since the ipod developed (exploded) after the deployment of the 7th generation Honda developed a fix across the board... ( the current Ipod attachment) until the next generation when it could be easily more integrated. My friend could be blowing smoke, but he helped develop the voice integration on my navi so I think that he might be right.... I understand your frustration, my car can not even integrate with an ipod using Honda's atttachment, thus the reason I went with the Honda Mp3 player. I just use CD-RW and re-burn... tedious, but a solution none the less. Just my two cents
