When I first press the gas pedal on my 99 Accord LX after it has been sitting for a while and not running, the initial press on the pedal is not smooth. I have to kind of do a quick, short stab at it to get going. After that it is fine for the whole drive. It mainly does first thing in the morning after sitting overnight. Any ideas as to what is causing this? I have not had it looked at by a tech yet.

Probably carbon buildup on the throttle body. Clean it out should be better afterwards.

Yup, there is dirt on your plate in the throttle body. Just take the air intake hose off and clean that plate off. It's sticking to the throttle body causing your problem.

Thanks BenjiBoy. That seems easy so I'll submit something else. I bought my Accord in May 06 after a bad car wreck that totalled my Celica. I had to make the purchase rather quickly and did not have the car fully diagnosed by a tech before I bought it. I love my Accord and it has been pretty solid so far. However, I am about to be able to pay it off and would like to get it checked from front to back, top to bottom and get a full assessment of what may need to be done now at 85,000 miles to make as sure the car will be as trouble free as possible for as long as possible. Any advise on what I should have looked at specifically and should this type of diagnostic be done at a dealer? I bought it from a Honda dealer in Marietta Ga. but I think they cleaned it up and did a basic check before putting it on the lot.

There's really nothing that needs to be looked at that you can't do yourself. Basically stupid little things like unusual tire wear, tire pressures, life left on the brake pads, no leaks/seepage, no unusual noises, CV boots aren't torn, etc.
