Does anyone know how to safely remove the chrome trim around the windows? I want to paint them with a transparent black to match the graphite exterior!

To remove them would break the clips, but new black ones would come with new clips......(I THINK the DX has black & LX & EX have chrome....if so they'd need to sell black.....)

They are VERY fragile & would also likely bend in removal.
