BenjiBoy650 10-14-2006, 05:55 PM Nope it should turn off with no one in the seat 07GraphiteSE 10-14-2006, 06:50 PM That is what I figured, sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order......thanks Benji  VTECaddict 10-14-2006, 06:51 PM FYI the "Passenger Airbag OFF" indicator does NOT light up with no one in the seat. WolfpackBill 10-14-2006, 07:49 PM :stupid: The owner's manual describes in detail in regards to this. The light only turns on when there is something or someone on the seat that isn't heavy enough to safety activate the airbag. But when nothing is on that seat, the airbag is automatically off and the light won't be lit. Again, consult your owner's manual. gaviota 10-15-2006, 07:52 AM And the side airbag off light will come on if someone sits in the passenger seat blocking the B-pillar. Try putting a pillow blocking the B-pillar to test this. VTECaddict 10-15-2006, 12:48 PM a pillow isnt gonna be substantial enough to trigger the position sensors. gaviota 10-15-2006, 01:56 PM a pillow isnt gonna be substantial enough to trigger the position sensors. I'm talking about the side airbag sensors, not the front passenger airbag. There's a separate light in the dash for the side airbags. This sensor is not based on weight, so if a pillow blocks the B-pillar, the light on the dash will turn on. Try it! For the front passenger airbag, the sensor is based on weight, so you need to put something in the front seat that weights less than an adult, a gallon of milk should do it. ItsaHonda 10-15-2006, 02:28 PM so if a pillow blocks the B-pillar, the light on the dash will turn on. Try it! >>> Didn't work in my car :dunno: However, I have triggered the weight sensor in the passenger seat with two 12 cases of coke. When I removed one of the cases, the light went off. 07GraphiteSE 10-15-2006, 03:10 PM The owner's manual describes in detail in regards to this. Humm, must have missed that sentence within the section. :sorry: Thanks for the help everyone :notworthy gaviota 10-15-2006, 05:14 PM Didn't work in my car :dunno: Try having a passenger put a pillow between his headrest and the seatbelts in the B-pillar and have him or her leave the pillow there for about 30 seconds, then you will see a yellow light on your dashboard. |
