I'm looking into buying a 90 Accord with 146k miles. The car is reasonably clean, it has new tires, new front axles, and a recent tune up, in which they replaced timing chain/drive belts/water pump/distributor/brake rotors/spark plug wires/spark plugs, etc. I'm buying it from a mechanic shop, and I checked out the car.... seems legit.

So I'm wondering if there is anything else I should look for before buying? I drove it, and it drives really really nice. The brakes are responsive, handles well. I noticed when stopping, it tend to shake a little.... like a motor mount issue, but the guy said they replaced 2 of the four, and that with these cars they tend to be a little rougher at idle. True?

Thanks guys!

Is it a manual or automatic transmission? (The manuals are fun!). People also have issues with the automatics every now and then (stiller will probably chime in).

Rougher idle could be caused by the idle control valve being clogged with carbon, or the rear engine mount which is a pain in the ass to deal with.

Other than that sort of thing though, they're really good cars.
