Note: LONG POST - stuff about owner appreciation night in blue, my other rants which you might wanna read are in red
So i just got back from my Honda dealer's "New Owner Appreciation Night"
it was pretty cool...
free food, free car care kit (containing a glass cleaner, spray cleaner and polish, and vinyl and leather protectant), a free oil change, and a 20% off coupon on retail parts
it also included a presentation (like car questions and who the ppl at the dealership are so u can get to know them)
btw this was all held in thier service department (which is huge, indoor and air conditioned..so no complaints here) they had all different cars on the jacks (the ones that lift cars like 6 feet in the air) and tables set out
turnout was like 150 ppl (they claimed it to be a small group)
they also had drawings for prizes...which included a 200 dollor gift certificate, Free oil changes for life, and a bunch of goodie bags with honda tshirts, watches, and cups
i lucked out and got the 200 dollor gift certificate
the first thing i told my dad when i got back to the table was, "this just bought me a pair of fog lights"
so anyway..my understanding was that they would cost 220 dollors (like you find on the honda site), but nope..i got to the accessary counter and asked the guy and he said 330 and then if i would like them installed, another 170 dollors for the "2 hours of labor"...cmon..30 minutes max
so the guy behind the counter asked if i wanted them..and i said..nope im alright i can get them for 220 from Honda...which apparently suprised the guy
they also had a technecian ask session...(lol took 3 technecians to answer my questions)
i asked them if painting my calipers would void my warranty , they said no.
then i asked if i installed a cold air intake if it would void my warranty ..they said no..unless it ended up screwing something up on the engine..
so then i asked what if i had it installed by yall (they sell cold air intakes for older civics and accords in the accessary shop) and they said..oh that wouldnt matter..we stand behind our work, but if there were a problem with the engine..that can void your warranty
(one of the technecians even said that he installed an AEM cold air intake on his brothers 2006 civic and the check engine light came on because the sensor was noticing more air...
^in the end when i asked the guy at the accessarry counter (who seemed more knowledged) he said that hed never ran into that problem..and even if u did all you would have to do was to reset the computer by unplugging the battery
In the end, im a happy camper...im gonna order the duplicolor caliper paint (now that i know it wont void my warranty) (lol small mods first..cause they are cheaper)..and i might see about getting the fogs..but i dont know what to do with this 200 dollor certificate now...theres nothing that i want from them...plus i dont think ill be able to use it for an oil change and have them take a little bit off of it each time lol
Dealership: AWESOME
Prices on Accessaries: meh... :thumbsdow
thanks for reading this super long post,
