note i did do a search..but most ppl dont discuss prices

So im looking to install fog lights onto my car, BUT ..ive seen so many different prices

my dealer says $330 for the fogs + $170 if i want them to install it

ive seen some sites that say 330 and some that say 230...

(2006 accord 4dr 4 Cylinder)

how much did you pay for your fogs, where did you get them, did you install them yourself? if not..how much did you pay for install, if yes how hard was it to install? does it just plug in..or do you have to splice wires...also how do you get the wire to go to the part inside the car where you put the switch?

For value, I think it's best to go with the ebay foglights, as it'll only cost roughly $130 CDN, shipped, with tax and everything... To install it, I'm sure you can dig up a DIY somewhere here, which isn't all that hard to do. Really only requires taking off the bumper.

However, having said all that, I'm the type that would rather pay for a peace of mind... Needless to say, I paid the stealership to install mine when I got the car... The bill was about $450 CDN, installed. Mind you, my car's a coupe, so I'm not sure if there's any difference...

I've got a friend who has a 2003 coupe and we've installed the ebay ones on his car... It works just the same as mine, only we were lazy when we installed his and just spliced them into the ambers.

I got mine for $235 before shipping and handling.. Mine is an '05, but the prices are about the same. Check out the factory direct section for instructions on how to install the fog lights. The 2006s are exactly the same as the 2007s. Paying $330 for just the fogs is like paying MSRP for your car. Nobody should do that. :blah:

Thats just a way for the dealer to deter you from DIY and for them to make more money. The pdf instructions for installing fog lights are pretty exact, try doing it yourself, you may learn a thing or two.

If you want a stock-looking fog light, get one from eBay..
If you want a different looking fog light, get one from your local auto store..
Don't buy it from dealer and don't ask dealer to install it for you..
If you don't wanna DIY, get a quote from your favorite body shop or just any mechanic should able to do it for you in an hr or so..

** Don't forget to get some nice H3 bulbs before the installation

I got OEM fogs from Collegehillshonda.com for something close to $240 or so. It took me 2 hours to install, if you're mechanically able. Newbies would take a little longer. Print out the instruction and follow it exactly and you'll be good to go.

H3 is the size of a bulb... But doesn't the foglights come in H11's? Or did they change that in 06-07/sedans?

The stock ones are still H11. I'm thinking of getting a pair of yellow bulbs. Should I get Mtec or Nokya??

I ran PIAA 1500 lights on my '95 LX. Back in '99 they cost me $120 and the local mechanic threw them on in 15 minutes for $25. We cut part of the grid out on the bottom of the front bumper and glued/screwed them to the plastic. There was no removal and reinstallation of any parts. Then the wires for the switch were run into the passenger compartment and we hid it (the switch) in the coin drawer to the left of the steering collumn.

I know y'all are talking about being wired for automatic activation but are those not considered running lights? I operated under the idea that fog lights were for adverse driving conditions and used them that way.
