Alright now, I've searched this forum for days on end for a solution to my problem and haven't found the answer yet. So now i'm left with no other option but to ask the great and knowledgeable people of this forum for an answer to my problem.
Basically, MY CRUISE CONTROL SUCKS, plain and simple. I'm getting the light when you press the button to engage the system, but when I try to set the system ( while maintaining my desired speed ) I get nothing. I'm not even getting the light on the dash indicating that it's set. I've checked all my fuses, which are good. The funny thing about the whole problem is that it didn't occur till' I had my timing belt and water pump done, in which they also had to advance my timing one tooth due to the age and mileage on the motor. I had been reading some info that said that if the timing was advanced too much it'll throw the vaccuum of the engine off which in turn will mess up the cruise control. Help please, anyone, anybody..... :bawling:

Not sure... I dont think the timing is your issue. I think something just got disconnected during the work. I'd look for loose wires or vac hoses around the area they worked.

Checked the actuator?

They put the timing belt on a different tooth?? I've never heard of that! :dunno: We've rebuilt lots with high mileage & have never put them on another tooth!!

Here, it wouldn't pass smog.

I doubt if it has anything to do with the TB unless it's what's already been mentioned, loose wires/connections, forgotten vacuum lines.... the first place to look is the cruise control actuator, it needs to be unplugged to do the TB.

i'm sure you would have noticed this, but can you start the car without pressing the clutch? i had some wires come loose in mine and caused that exact same problem, because it won't engage the cruise if it thinks you're in between shifts.

:cig: :cig: Before I start, thanks for the input from everyone. But, yes I did check all the connections ( disconnecting and reconnecting them ), the vaccuum hoses ( doing the same also, and I am getting sucktion { from the hoses, LMAO }. I wonder if it is possible I am getting a code, yet again this is something I am also a bit slow on when trying to read them. I dunno, I'll check and see if I can get the cruise to flash. And once again "thanks for the help everyone!", but i guess i'm back to start again. :cig:
