If the front suspension on a '98 Accord "clunks" when turning or braking, check for loose nuts on the ends of the front stabilizer (sway) bar. (Loose nuts can be caused by too much paint on the stabilizer bar ends.) To fix the problem, just retorque the nut(s) to 42 N.... m (30 lb-ft). Don't worry about cleaning the stabilizer bar; if the nut's already loose, the paint won't be there any more.
