Anyone ever hear about shops not doing a rear (toe) alignment because a car is older than 2 years old? Their excuse is, the older cars' rear tie rods are usually frozen solid and any attempt to adjust them usually breaks them.
I'm calling BS on them since they are still able to adjust the front (toe) alignment. This is the first time I've ever heard about that. What are your thoughts about this?

BS
Had all four wheels on our '93 done beginning this year when we got new tires. No probs.
I think they're just lazy buggers!

Try another shop. I've had 4+ yr old cars' rear alignment adjusted. Sometimes if it's rusted they need to let it sit with some PB Blaster for a bit, but they'll loosen up fine...

They are full of it. I've had 4 wheel alignments done on cars that are older than 2 years.

Thanks for the reply guys. :notworthy:
I guess it's because it's my sister who brought the car in for an alignment so they didn't want to deal with the rears... Maybe they just wanted to get a tie rod replacement service out of her. IDK :dunno: I know the rear alignment is way off (1.5' toe in LR, 0.4' toe in RR) since it's wearing down brand new tires in a few months and you could see that the alignment is off!

'98 Camry. the LR front tie rod was bent somehow (must've been a HUGE rock! ) so that threw the LR toe completely off...

I had a 4 wheel alignment done on a car that was 12 years old. Age of the car has nothing to do with this.

You might want to steer her to a different shop as well.
