I, personally, am not interested in diesel, but I'm sure there are several that would be. Here, it would be smog exempt. I've never understood that though....they are so sooty. I wonder if/when they'll bring them here. From what I read at least Honda has undone many of the negative things about them & that's great!

Yes, but hte soot that comes out is not as harmful to the ozone as the GAS cars


so, in effect ... while they are "dirtier" they are actually "cleaner" in some respects... that soot is some of the waxy bits getting burned off

True, but they're sooooo stinky!!!

Had a diesel living next door for years.... was sure glad when they finally sold it! The smell would actually make me queasy.

They are also noisier.....but some like that part.:)

I think diesels should have to adhere to some sort of pollution laws.... even if the soot isn't counted. I've known people to buy them just to not deal with getting it smogged!

Last year my daughter's inlaws went out of state in their brand new truck (not diesel) pulling a brand new 5th wheel..... they were used to our color coded gas pumps & filled up the truck with diesel! They spent an extra 3 days in nowhere land while the tank & lines had to be cleaned!

Do other states have color coded pumps??:confused: Obviously AZ doesn't have the same colors as us in CA!

You know, when I was at the other thread, I didn't think to sniff around the Honda UK site. I went straight to the article in the link and didn't look around. That's why I was surprised to see the link posted by Mac_God.
