View Full Version : Congressional Election
mnkyman 11-07-2006, 04:28 PM GOT MY FINGERS CROSSED, hope most of yall voted the democratic way
my predictions:
Democrats will definatley win House, they have a good chance to win Senate, but if they dont, they will take a couple seats
EDIT: i was suprised no one had posted on this yet
Coil99 11-07-2006, 04:38 PM Not sure who will win in Tennessee - supposedly a real close race - but I can tell you it has been one of the more annoying/mud slinging races in a long time.
CM5sedan 11-07-2006, 08:27 PM I would like to see Democrats win in Texas :)
mnkyman 11-07-2006, 09:59 PM im very sad to see all these car buffs really dont car much about your government...sad ..but it happens all over the nation
as for D's in texas, we can only wish.lol this state is to conservative
12:56 AM (Central Time Zone)
House: democrats officially has 221 seats, republicans have 183
(DEMOCRATS HAVE WON THE HOUSE)
Senate: Democrats: 48, Republicans 49 , 3 undecided...republicans need 1 to keep controll of house, democrats need 3 to take control
the 3 undecided currently have the democrats winning (but by very little amounts ...as little as 3000 votes)
stevencrosbie 11-07-2006, 10:14 PM I have my opinions, but I keep them off of this board. I'm sure most people know which way I side and why I love Texas so much...as it's not that hard to tell with me.
Oh well....staying out of this as it can become a thread with endless pissing contests.
namegoeshere 11-07-2006, 10:17 PM Dems have already won the House. They're now just adding more seats.... 24 and counting.... (http://www.dccc.org/results/index.html)

Jumping to conclusions, aren't we? Some people (not inclusive of me) have lives...forums aren't their first priority.
namegoeshere 11-07-2006, 10:27 PM Yeah, it's still a pretty close race in the Senate, but at least Santorum lost (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,228000,00.html).
Hope that racist pig George Allen loses too. But it's still too close (http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=2637335) to call. There's talk of a possible recount too.
With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Webb had 1,143,756 votes, or 49.51 percent, to Allen's 1,141,030, or 49.39 percent.

According to Yahoo! (link (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061108/ap_on_el_ge/eln_election_rdp)) Bob Corker won.
Democrats defeated Republican Sens. Rick Santorum in Pennsylvania, Mike DeWine in Ohio, Jim Talent in Missouri and Lincoln Chafee in Rhode Island — four lawmakers who covered the spectrum from conservative to moderate.
But they came up short in Tennessee as Republican Bob Corker won a hotly contested race, defeating Rep. Harold Ford. Jr., who had hoped to become the first Southern black senator since Reconstruction.
namegoeshere 11-07-2006, 10:52 PM FYI....
Talent just conceded to McCaskill in Missouri. Dems now have a real chance at winning the Senate too.
im very sad to see all these car buffs really dont car much about your government...sad ..but it happens all over the nationNah, I care plenty. I just don't discuss politics on an Accord owners forum, that's all. There's plenty of discussion boards set up for pundit wannabes. I'd just assume let 'em fight it out over there.
bleacherbum003 11-08-2006, 10:02 AM I didnt know we had to cast our vote here. Anyway, I am pretty happy to see the democraps win the house. We know they can talk the talk but can they walk the walk?
namegoeshere 11-08-2006, 10:32 AM Well, they can't possibly do any worse than the Republi-thugs....
princess 11-08-2006, 11:27 AM In general, I'm happy with the results of the elections yesterday. Our local ones went the way I'd voted for the most part.
Having the senate Dems won't help much with anything.... they will just tie things up longer & nothing will get done... oh yeah, that's the way it always is in government..... :lmao: So I guess it'll be the same as always!
I didn't vote for most of the Dems running around here though. Although there's many good ideas, there's no way to pay for most of them. I get tired of the handouts that this state gives. We seem to pay twice for whatever the government decides to give away.... once in the regular taxes, then again in special ones... yet I have yet to meet a person that has been hard working that suddenly needs help from the government that has got it. :dunno: So they paid tons of taxes into the programs, but can't use it. Drives me nuts!! What's the point?
mnkyman 11-08-2006, 03:14 PM thought yall wouldnt mind talking about something other than accords for a little
i just assumed, cause i checked hte forums again a couple hours latter and there had been some 20+ posts, but only like 1 post on here (and for that, i thank coil
mwmcginn 11-08-2006, 03:25 PM I voted pretty much republican this time. In Illinois we have one of the most corrupt systems at the state level. So I was hoping for a change. That didnt happen. Even our local treasurer who's house somehow got reassesed this year 60k lower than last year (even though my properties went up about 20% like the rest of the county) got re-elected. CRAZY. I dont understand how people vote...
princess 11-08-2006, 03:43 PM The main reason I voted for our governator was that he wasn't a politician...I view then ALL as corrupt.... :) He's actually surprised me. He's done OK. I figure if you have most of the people here against you, you must being doing something right!!! :lmao:
CM5sedan 11-08-2006, 07:40 PM democ win the house, and the senate.
I just wish they can finish the war right now.
