View Full Version : Any COLLEGE FOOTBALL fans on DA.net?
Coil99 11-10-2006, 08:06 AM There were a few in the past; didn't know if any were still posting.
I think the biggest story this year (so far) has to be The State Univeristy of New Jersey rolling along at 9-0. I thought for sure Louisville was going to win last night, but Rutgers got it done.
stiller fan 11-10-2006, 08:54 AM i casually follow both pitt and penn state.... not a big fan of collegiate sports tho.... :dunno:
EDIT: now, if only i felt the same way about the steelers, i wouldn't be pissed off 24/7!! :headbash:
stevencrosbie 11-10-2006, 10:22 AM Go Air Force :D
stiller fan 11-10-2006, 10:51 AM hmmmmm, doesn't navy beat them almost every year??? :blah:
stevencrosbie 11-10-2006, 12:08 PM No, just the last couple years.
USAFA>>Navy for Commander and Chief trophies.
Both good schools though. I just don't want to be on a ship for my career in the service.
stiller fan 11-10-2006, 12:39 PM i will stay steven, it has never been fun tryin to get the air force vs. navy rivalry thing going with you... :dunno: :(
:selavie: :)

samsonskeg 11-10-2006, 06:20 PM i just started following college football!
Im a louisville fan :) i was really upset when they lost last night. Damnit.
according2me 11-11-2006, 02:07 PM Geaux Tigers!!!
The LSU Tigers, of course.
Today Georgia beat Auburn, opening up a chance for LSU to represent the SEC West if we win out. This won't be a small task as Arkansas has developed into a good team.
Coil99, I would have thought Tennessee's loss last week would have been a big issue this year. :^)
according2me 11-24-2006, 05:14 PM Well, we put the Hogs in their place, though they will still represent the SEC West in the Conference Championship.
Hopefully this earns LSU a BCS major bowl. I'm hoping the Rose bowl against USC, if they don't make it to the BCS championship game for some reason.
Those guys have been ducking us long enough. LOL.
mnkyman 11-24-2006, 05:24 PM UT lost to A&M ....didnt think that would happen
lol..atleast that helps OU out..as far as ranking
Coil99 11-24-2006, 07:03 PM UT lost to A&M ....
I was able to see most of that game. Before the game I thought Texas would have won, but A&M pulled it out.
Coil99 11-24-2006, 07:10 PM Well, we put the Hogs in their place, though they will still represent the SEC West in the Conference Championship.
I guess (????) it was close enough at the end of the 4th, but LSU looked better than The Hogs the majority of the game.
I know you're an LSU fan, but I was pulling for Arkansas...and I'll tell you why. I'd like to see the SEC get in the national championship mix. But, I don't like Florida, so The Hogs were my best chance (assuming some help) to get the SEC in the mix, without cheering for FU, which is tough for me to do.

I'm a week or two late, but you mean the Arkansas game? The Hogs whipped The Vols bad - no two ways about that.
according2me 11-25-2006, 07:08 AM I'd like to see the SEC get in the national championship mix.
It'll be hard for any SEC team to reach the BCS title game. Year in, year out there are always 5 or 6 very good teams that battle each other and knock each other out of contention. This year Auburn and Florida effectively eliminated us, in close games, and we eliminated Arkansas. This happens more often than not in the SEC.
In this PC friendly BCS series, Boise State is still vying for a BCS bowl game. Please!!!!!!! Even our mid level teams this year (cough...Tennessee, Georgia) could embarrass them.
I hope ND handles USC, then USC will go to the Rose and hopefully LSU will get an invitation to play them. Then we'll punish their quarterback for leaving his home state to play on the left coast.
The above scenario would allow a rematch of Ohio State vs Michigan, which I was not in favor of a week ago, but......
mnkyman 11-25-2006, 01:52 PM OU just beat out OSU
they get a bowl spot for sure now
knocked UT out of the for sure category
pl8ster 11-27-2006, 04:55 PM Not a good year to be an FSU fan :( Or a Miami fan, for that matter.
I was hoping we could at least spoil the Gators' party. The good news is that we'll have a new offensive coordinator next year.
stevencrosbie 11-27-2006, 05:01 PM A&M beat UT.....YES.
My opinion, Ohio all of the way. I don't like USC.
HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did you not watch yesterday's game?!
GO UCLA BRUINS!
phoenix 12-04-2006, 05:45 AM UConn Huskies football and basketball season ticket holder. There has been little to cheer about in Huskyland in terms of the pigskin this season.
stevencrosbie 12-04-2006, 07:34 AM AF basketball is awesome! I've had season tickets for 4 years....
mnkyman 12-04-2006, 09:46 AM OU won, they would have had a chance to play ohio for championships if it wasnt for the retarded reffs in that one game
BenjiBoy650 12-04-2006, 09:49 AM I wish I could have been able to watch the USC game...sounded like a much better game than the trash that we played here at Cal. Even though we won...they sucked. End of story.
Coil99 12-04-2006, 10:17 AM Not a good year to be an FSU fan :( Or a Miami fan, for that matter.
This wasn't the year for either FSU or Miami. It is hard to believe that they both have 6-6 records. (I like both teams, BTW.)
On an O/T note, how are things on the license plate collecting front?
according2me 12-15-2006, 07:41 PM Well, I'm bummed out. When USC lost, I was licking my chops to finally have a matchup with them. Then Florida won big enough to sway some human polls enough to get the nod to play "the Ohio State". After that, I just knew the Rose was going to go with their traditional matchups.
And the Sugar fell to the Tigers. The freakin Sugar, a 90 mile day trip for the Tigers and into a wasteland of despair and crime. Next year, it's time to hurt someone. I'm really bummed out.
psyshack 12-15-2006, 08:03 PM Big Hog fan here. ad love them Sooners also.
I hope they fire the Nut for loosing the LSU and Florida game. :(
Coil99 12-25-2006, 10:21 AM Big Hog fan here.
I hope they fire the Nut for loosing the LSU and Florida game. :(
I was pulling for The Hogs to get into the National Championship mix...but it didn't work out that way. Now I gotta go w/ Florida now. <sigh>
Fire Nutt? Really? Arkansas had a big year.
Coil99 12-25-2006, 10:24 AM Well, I'm bummed out.
Still a great year for LSU! (And it was a close one in Knoxville...LSU and FU were both darn close.)
according2me 12-25-2006, 04:19 PM Still a great year for LSU!
That's why I was hoping for USC.
Ever since they made a stink about being co-champions in 03, we've looked forward to a matchup with them. This is our last team with any of those starting guys on the roster back then. In '03, we won with defense mostly, this year our defense is good, but not as dominating as '03, but we have a bit of offense also. And our speed on both sides of the ball matchup well with anyone. Damn!!!!!!!!!
