Any recommendations on who makes a good bug remover? They are out in force already here in Maine.
Thanks,

Living in the south with a humid climate, we get lots of bugs. I keep the car waxed & wash it about every week. I never have problems with bugs that way. If you do want a product for bug removal, I would say use the P21S Total Auto Wash or Wurth Citrus Degreaser. I have used both typically every 6 months to get it "real" clean & remove old wax. I like the P21S wash stuff. It's not as concentrated as the Wurth.

Not familiar with either one of them. Are they are product you have to order?

GM makes a Bug & Tar Remover. I'm imagine your local Honda dealership has a Pro Honda product for this. I believe Princess uses some Pro Honda products. I can't comment on anything other than what I have tried myself.

I use a little auto wash and the rough netted side of my mitt for getting bugs. Bugs aren't much of a problem for me yet fortunately. What really gets me is the silicon-based tire dressing that my dad buys, you cannot get that stuff off with or without soap.

I've never used a bug remover, Honda or otherwise.....so I don't know if they have one. Usually I soak them with water & use the hose gun on a high pressure.....over & over.... most of the time they will then wash off with our normal method. Sometimes though they are baked on pretty good. When that happens I'll wash off as many as I can (without scrubbing) then make my prince get the rest off! I'm too paranoid about scratching the paint!!
I have some on there now. I soaked, I washed..... I'm not allowed to scrub though. He's afraid I'll use a fingernail just like most scrubbing jobs! This batch was baked pretty good in the LA sunshine! So guess what he gets to do this weekend. Maybe I'll actually pay attention & tell you his method!:D (normally I'm cleaning other places.... I always get the rims.....must be because I'm closer!!)
I do know that we have no special products for removal. He may just use the car shampoo CAREFULLY. :)
I do most of the car washing, just not the stubborn bugs!!

I had a bra on my car. It left fibers embedded in the paint. That's the last time I'm putting ANYTHING on my car besides wax. Add insult to injury it did not stop chips! In fact there's actually a lot of them because some rocks got underneath and just kinda stuck there. Grrrr

I'm not happy with the way they look & they're known for messing up the paint. I'll just continue to fight with the bugs!!
Most of I5 is through the farming valley of our state. In the Spring & warm Summer nights, it's almost like it's raining bugs! Big ones, little ones, bees, etc. It's pretty icky! This time wasn't as bad as most Spring trips due to it being a bit later & it was all in daylight. We've made a soda stop at gas stations just to wash the windshield! The worse case is when we go south at night & then the hot sun down there bakes them on. By the time we get home, they're cooked pretty good!! So far he's been able to remove them. Since I do the majority the day after we get home, he just has to deal with the stubborn ones.;)
