This will be the spot for newcomers & us old timers alike to tell everyone who we are & about ourselves & our interests.

I'll start:

I've been a member of this forum for quite a while. I stumbled on it when I bought my '03 in August of '03.

I'm a retired professional shopper married to a Honda tech & do my best to share whatever info with y'all that I can.

Over the past couple of years I've become addicted to cruises & am now in the process of getting certified for scuba diving.

I'm lead footed.
I'm short (vertically challenged)
I have 3 grown kids & 7 grandkids.

I have an unnatural interest in earthquakes & enjoy extreme weather...even if it means I must put shoes on!! I whine a lot when it's cold.... I enjoy water. We water ski & swim.

My idea of a wonderful Winter day at home is watching DVDs of SciFis on our flat TV with the surround sound annoying the neighbors munching on chocolate & drinking my diet Dew with the fireplace blazing..... :D

Your turn..............

cool..... question is, will the new ones see this, princess???? :dunno:

hi, have been on here for a little over 2 years now. still drive my 1993 accord 10th anniversary edition that i bought in jan 2001. it's been wrecked 3 times, yet still runs fine, albeit, with some minor issues (headlight issue notwithstanding)....

interests: NFL football, NHL, MLB (when the pirates win), meterology (am a METOC technician at the moment, aspiring to be a weather forecaster)

navy guy.... have been around the world three times, seen alot of things while "over there, cross the pond", and some things that i probably shoud not have been doing... :naughty:

oh, last thing, also love extreme weather (sans hurricane katrina).... when it gets hot during the summer, i tend to develop a sick sense of humor and post pics of blizzards and ice storms.... :lmao:

I can't do it. (make it a section) or I wouldn't need to pester him when I need a new year section put in... :)

Kiddo, you be a mod now.....you get to ask for these things.... :lmao: Amanda has mentioned a few times that we should have an offical introduction spot. I agree. So I started this, you get to have it moved!!

Ok, I guess I'll contribute to this post and introduce myself.

I'm currently living in Hawaii (island of Oahu) and have practically been here all my life. Except when going to college in Nevada and sampling the life there.

I stumbled upon this forum when I wanted to know more about my '06 Accord purchased in 8/06. I have been a longtime fan of Honda/Acura automobiles from my Integra to Civic to my Accord now.

Unlike princess & stiller fan, I don't particularly enjoy extreme weather and like it to be the same yearround (hence where I live) :lmao:

I enjoy the following: photography, getting into videography, car audio, watching movies, watching University of Hawaii volleyball games, sleeping, my iPod, my PSP, etc.

I have 2 bunnies and 3 kittens................that's pretty much it!

I've LOVED our visits to Oahu!!!

The people were friendly all over the island!! I found it the best out of the 4 we went on. On Maui the tourists were treated as a nessessary evil..... lots of "GO HOME" signs everywhere!!

Don't feel bad princess. The people on Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii (the Big Island) don't like the people from OAHU!!!! We always get that impression when we visit those islands. :thumbsdow

We had good (but limited) experiences with the people on the Big Island. On Kauai it was storming so much that we didn't hardly talk to anyone... the few we did were OK. One area was grieving a local surfer that had been killed in the storm. We kept to ourselves there so we wouldn't intrude. I've never seen rain like they were having!! The muddy water from the runoff was well beyond the port!!

I'd like to give Maui another try. But I'll always love Oahu best!! It's beautiful. Lots to see & do.

We went as far as the road went on the west/north side. We were all over that island!! We went well past the north shore just exploring. The only oplace we ended up not going was up on Diamondhead. Maybe next time!!

I have a hard time finding the sugar free chocolate covered Mac nuts here. I should've bought a case & shipped them home!!! :D

Hi,

I'm Steve. I've been here almost a year and I enjoy this hobby. I'm a senior at the US Air Force Academy and I will be a Developmental Engineer for the Air Force. The number under my username is my countdown until I'm commissioned.

I've always driven Hondas (since 16). I currently own an Acura TL...so its not an Accord, but still a Honda product.

I am a Mechanical Engineering major, so, that might be the reason why I am online at weird hours. I enjoy all kinds of sports, but Tennis is my pastime.

Lastly, I'm from Texas. I live in Colorado, but I'm a Texan at heart.

Any other information, just ask. I'll let you know as I don't bite.

I'm Ryan and I live in the lovely but expensive and corrupt Garden State. I'm originally from Trinidad and Tobago, in the tropical caribbean.

I've been here for I don't know how long, I suspect approximately 2 years. I'm lazy to check.

I'm a senior (almost graduated) Electrical Engineering student at Brooklyn Polytechnic University. I hope to become a broadcast engineer when I grow up errr... sometime after I graduate, which should be next year. Currently I'm a unix administrator for a pretty large insurance and financial services company. I hate the hours and the on call crap but I can't complain about the pay.

I love all things electronic. If it's expensive and you can plug it in, chances are I'll like it. I also build stuff, mostly radio/rf equipment but also digital circuits using microcontrollers (mostly PICs and BASIC stamps).

I'm also an amateur radio operator. I hold two licenses - AB2MH in the USA, and 9Y4RAJ in Trinidad and Tobago. I'm also working on obtaining my FCC commercial licenses.

Always owned Hondas and probably always will, but Honda has to help me by ironing out the little bugs in their otherwise fine cars.

Hobbies - electronics design/building, photography, amateur radio, home theater, volunteer work.

My name's Justin. I'm 23 years old. I live out in Ventura County (inbetween Santa Barbara and Los Angeles). I found this forum as soon as I bought my Accord in July. I've found this forum to be useful in SO many ways.

I work as an Import/Export Coordinator for a major tool company located across the nation.

Just like Princess, I love extreme weather. Living in SoCal all my life, I've grown tired of "normal sunny days".

I also no not care too much for the ocean, been around it all my life as well. I would rather be in the desert on a dirt bike or in the forest camping. I plan on moving to WA next summer, to get away from all that I despise in California.

I enjoy doing easy bolt-on mods to my car, I'm not too much into fabrication.

I have a beautiful girlfriend that I met at work and I've been with for over 1 1/2 years. We have an apartment together with her 4 year old daughter, that is the world to me. We live about a block from the beach. Unlike me, they love being there.

I'm a Computer Science Engineer and work as Information Technology Director for a telephone company. Wife is a Doctor. We live in Honduras - http://www.letsgohonduras.com/

My interests include computers, movies, soccer, guns and cars, especially 4x4s. Here we have lots of real good places to go off-roading.

I'm Mike

Cars:
I have been a die hard rotary engine fan since high school, but in preparation of having a baby in August, I had to look for more car seat friendly cars. So after years of driving 2 door fun sports cars, I bought the accord in March. I bought the accord after taking a new civic for a test drive and realizing that I could buy the accord for the same price as the Civic I wanted. So enters the Accord VP and sold is the sports car. Even though its very different than what I was used to, I am really happy with it.

As far as techincal skill, I think I am pretty advanced. Some of the things I have done include multiple engine swaps, transmissions, brakes, bearings, suspensions, and even repaired bodywork after a deer collisons.

Family:
I have a great wife. Our personallities come together to form one great, fun, ying yang of a time. We are opposite in a lot of ways, but similar in our humors.

Now we have a great daughter. She is the best and I would have never thought I could love a child so much. Everyone who has had a baby knows, and everyone who hasnt, just cant know. It completely changed my life for the better. I hope I can live up to being the father she needs me to be as she grows.

Fun:
So I am wierd. Ok. But I think I like pretty normal things. Moutain Biking (although we have no moutains here), Canoeing, Swimming, Drinking Coors Light, Working on cars (Damn honda doesnt have anything go wrong with it though) and spending time with the family.

I think the next thing I want to do is buy a cheap car and start to participate in SCCA rallycross.

Dislikes:
Angry people, people that dont obey traffic signals; people who dont trust me 100% even though I am frequently wrong. :)

Work:
I work for the largest telcom in the US.

My name is Elmer J Fudd...I own a mansion und a yacht! :lmao:

Hi, I'm Ross, a recovering .... .... oh wait, wrong therapy group! :paranoid: :paranoid: :paranoid:

I live in the wonderful and forgotten part of New York to the right of all the chaos...Long Island (shhh...don't tell anyone - it's getting to crowded here)

I'm an electronic engineer with a rather large multi-national aerospace company...we keep all the good people protecting us equipped with those neat-o "George Jetson" gadgets. Needless to say I'm a airplane freak. One that also likes to make things go beep-buzz-click-BOOM. Obviously I'm also a techno-geek...I can build anything from PCs to a big-block chevy :naughty:

I came across this looney bin when I first started looking for a "car", that was about 15 months ago. For the last 20 years or so I have been driving 4WD rigs to get me to the beach where my passion is found - windsurfing. I started back in the early 80's when the sport was in it's infancy. Back then for $250 you got the "state of the art" board and rig and life was good! Now, one of my boards goes for $1600. I own 4 boards, 7 sails, 3 masts...you get the idea....I'm a WINDCHIMP!

That's a perfect segue into my love of severe weather - heck - that's where the wind is!!! :naughty: The best sailing time around here is the Fall and Spring - change of seasons always brings strong storm fronts to the east coast. Winter storms work also, but sadly my days of sailing in snowstorms are behind me...since I discovered SNOWBOARDING!

To fill in the gaps of occasional boredom I pick up one of my basses...last I checked there were 6 of them around here....I've been playing guitar since I was 10 and started playing bass at 16. My "bass hero" is Chris Squire (Yes) followed closely by McCartney...I like their melodic bass lines which makes the instument come "up front" in the mix. I've played in several bands over the years however I'm a lone wolf at the moment. Sorta describes my social status at the moment - no wife, no kids (never had any of that)...the Holidays will be cheap this year at least :dunno:

Oh, and Steve....bite me.

...ok, let me introduce or re-introduce myself, as the join date thingy says, I've been a member for not quite a year and a half. Found out about this site either from someone at Temple of Vtec or as a result from googling "honda accord"...

...my Accord, which is my 18th car, is the third Honda product in the family, we also have an Odyssey and my son has an Acura EL...

...wondering about my the handle 'Trainchaser'? I've been a train buff since I could talk, and with many relatives in the railroad business as I grew up, chasing trains kinda stuck with me...

...I am what you would call 'middle aged', although I don't feel that way, I think I'm a bit younger than princess...;)

...I'm a professional photographer, a bit of a car freak, and an information junkie - I literally used to read encyclopedias for fun when I was a kid, so, for me, something like google is the same as giving a kid the keys to a candy store...

...my wife and I have two grown up kids who still live at home, although my daughter is engaged to be married next August which will give us a spare bedroom to store more 'stuff' in - where does it all come from? I think it actually must breed when you're not around...

...my likes:
-my family.
-travel, all types, although we seem to be looking more at cruising nowadays.
-trains, model trains and all things railroad oriented.
-cars.

...my dislikes:
-drivers who apparently have forgotten everything they learned about driving or just don't give a d*** anyway.
-the guy who always ends up behind you that bought the accessory driving light package and insists on having it on at all times, instead of out on the open road where it was designed for.
-graffiti

...that kind of sums it up for me...

cheers,

Chimpy, you'd love this area!!! It's always got enough wind to sailboard or windsurf!! There's always parked cars lined up along the "river road" (160) & people out there. I guess there's got to be something to love about all this wind!! :) It's actually just one of the many sloughs where they park, but the waves get to 4' or so if it's 8-10 on the actual river. On a "normal" day it can be & calm there though.

Trainchaser, it's looking like Jarrison is going to have a passion for trains of all kinds..... it all started with Thomas (which I find boring). His favorites at DL seem to be the railroad & the monorail. With all to do & see there, he'd rather sit on a train!!

Mike, I like hearing a dad take parenting seriously! I've known so many that seem to out it all off on the mom. That's a pet peeve of mine!! I lucked out & got a guy that wasn't raised with any differences between "women's work" & men's....there's not a chore here would do. Which has made for a few jealous friends!! :D He's just as comfy doing the dishes as he is at playing with a wood project.

Justin, I LOVE California!! I like to visit other places, but I think this is where I'll always live. Traffic is the biggest drawback....well, that & prices! I think our version of "extreme weather" would make most of these guys laugh. I enjoy a beautiful lightning storm as much as fireworks!! :lmao:

Hi Drive Accord!

My name is Michael, most call me by my middle name Tyler and I joined DA becuase after years of reading I knew I wanted to be a part of what seems to be the best Accord Forum around. I'm 16, I live in Austin Texas, but I was born in San Francisco California. I'm not a ricer, and I'm very mature for my age. If I do anything to my Accord it ususally involves the swapping of other interchangeable Honda/Acura parts.
My Accord, bad picture though, took this at night.

I think it's always refreshing to see a "girl" interested in the auto world!! Do you plan this as a career?

There's really nothing the guys are better at in the automotive field if trained equally, but you will have to be twice as good at as the guys you'd work with. I'm speaking from years of my prince being in the field. There's only been a handful of female techs & he's thought they were better than most of the guys he's worked with, but they HAD to be. He complained several times on their behalf when they weren't treated fairly. He's done the same for any new person he's worked with.

Most of the guys get help with the heavy stuff & pushing cars in.... yet if the females ask, it seems to be "see I told ya....." :dunno:

My sister would've been great at it had she chosen that direction. I prefer to keep the interest lighter.... more on the "hobby" type of thing.

That's very true princess.

However, don't you think you'd have fun acting like a 'stupid' (as in not mechanically inclined) female at an auto shop on your first day and then blowing their minds away?

Good luck in your career Amanda! What exactly do you want to do?

It would be fun to play "dumb"..... but most of us are just too nervous about the new job to bother with any games.

I've often helped out fellow Honda owners that are female in parking lots. They have less to fear by my walking up to them than a male stranger. I just get the "whaddayawant" look. But once we start talking, it's fine. :)

Yay, so glad to see this section. This is the second time where I've mentioned this and it's gotten it's own section.

I'm from a Honda family, live in Lake Stevens, WA (about an hour NNE of Seattle), almost 21. I love Honda's and Subaru's.

My daily driver is a 1992 red Geo Metro LSi convertible. My baby is my Sapphire Blue Pearl 2003 Honda Accord coupe EX V6 6MT w/Navi. I'm also considering getting a '90 Subaru Legacy LS FWD wagon for a project car.

I'm majoring in Accounting. I think it'd be awesome to work for Honda Corporate. I'd also like to learn about auto mechanics and get my teaching certificate for elementary education. I try and do it all.

Oh, I have ADD, that's why I bounce from subject to subject. I have mounds of useful/useless Honda information residing in my brain. I love learning about Honda's and Subaru's.

Let's see...I'm a 1st time Honda driver. (Specs below) Before that, our family is mostly a European car family (a few volvos, mercs, BMWs). I've decided to be more conservative by buying a Honda, but wish to own a AWD sedan / station wagon sometime.

Parents live and work for a German company in Shanghai, China. They have a 2005 Buick GL8 Minivan (http://www.buick.com.cn/c_model/gl8_25.aspx), but it's company owned and they have a driver. Sister lives in the SF bay area and drives a pretty new Volvo XC70.

I work in San Diego for a tech company as a business planning manager.

Guess its about time I post here too eh?....lol.

Anyhow my real name is James, I'm 24, and I live in Courtice, Ontario, Canada. As far as work goes, presently work in IT and computer/network support, and before that I worked part time as a web designer for a small local company.

I guess you could say I've always been interested in cars since I was born. The joke was that my first word actually was never "mommy" or "daddy"...it was actually "vroom vroom"... :lmao:

As far as cars go, my "first" car was a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire, which I drove right up until I got my Accord. It was originally my dad's car, and essentially became mine a few years ago after I started driving it 90% of the time and paying for all the repairs (and as it was an older GM there were many...including a few engines...lol). It may have had more than its share of issues, but overall it was a decent/good car to me while it lasted (never buying a domestic though).

Anyhow, when I started looking into cars I knew I wanted something sporty that was a coupe. First I looked at both the 2004 Tiberion (4-cyl), and 2004 Celica. One test drive of the Tiberion was enough to tell me I didn't want the car (drove slower than my Sunfire), and the Celica...well, it just wasn't worth what they wanted for a 140hp car. After nixing those two options, a few friends told me to look at a 2005 RSX Type-S. I can say after driving the Type-S, I knew I wanted something made by Honda in the driveway...lol. I was actually about a week away from buying a 2006 RSX Type-S, when I went out to a local bar with some friends from work and told them what I was planning. One of the guys owned a 2003 Accord Coupe 6MT, and told me to at least take a look at the car. I told him that I figured it had to be at least a few thousand more than the Type-S (I knew it had a 240hp V6), and he told me he doubted it was more than a thousand more, and that I'd have much more room haggling for a Honda than an Acura.

Long story short, I test drove a 2004 V6 5AT (all the dealer had), and my friend let me take his 2003 V6 6MT around the block at work a few times and I knew I was hooked. Called the insurance company and found out it was around $1000 a year cheaper for me to have the 6MT than the Type-S! It also ended up Honda was willing to talk numbers and Acura was not. The rest my friends is history. I would have liked a G35 M-Sport 6MT Coupe as well...but the price was just more than I could stomach.

Hi Princess!!! :)

I'm Eric. I've been here for quite some time (I remember when we hit 100 members). :) I joined the board in Feb 2003 right after buying my 2003 Accord (EX V6). It hard to beleive I only have a year left and then it will be paid off!!

I'm Jeremy

My Accord is my first new car, my first Honda, and also my first non-GM car. I've been a fan of Accords ever since a high school friend used to drive a 5th gen coupe. Last year was when I finally decided to go out and buy one.

I stumbled onto this forum after a little bit of time spent on other forums which were not as friendly or helpful. It quickly became addicting and I find myself on here several times a day just absorbing info. I like to do as much maintenance and repairs as I can myself and this forum has been very very helpful with that.

I'm a software engineer and I live in a very small town just outside St. Louis. Fun fact: I graduated from the same college as mwmcginn and we work for the same company at the same location in downtown St. Louis.

I'm not married but I do have a girlfriend who has been living with me for over 4 years. She is a preschool teacher and doesn't care about cars at all.

Hobbies: cars, electronics/home theater, music (I play the drums), movies, computers

Just joined this forum after finding about about if from the Ridgeline forum since I just bought a new 07 Ridgeline RTX. I own a 03 Blue Accord EXL and love it. Back in 88 I bought a 88 Accord new and recently donated it to the Kidney Foundation, still running strong, with 330,000 miles on it!
With my Ridgeline, I got alot of good ideas on upgrades to make which I've already started on. Haven't made many on the Accord yet, so I'm hoping I'll get some good ideas here. I'm sure I will so thanks in advance and nice to be a new member!

My current <<Love>> is a 2007 Accord 2dr exl-v6 navi. Color is Desert mist metallic with ivory interior.

As you can see, I'm absolutely addicted to these cars. :D

With the redesign coming in 2008, I hope all goes well...

Thanks!

Welcome Jay Cee & congratulations on the new RL! What color did you get? If it's the steel blue, then we have a matching set!! :D

Having had a few Hondas with nearly 400K, I know they can do it!! We consider them just "broke in" when they pass the 100K mark. So 200K is middle aged & now Stiller's is in it's golden years.... :lmao:
Nope. Got the Formal Black RTX, but close

Although I love the looks of black, I hate the maintaince of the dark colors. In fact, I think my next car will be white!!! :D

We have wind blowing dust or/and pollen here all year round. Right now my Accord is a mess from the rain we had recently. I haven't been up to going out there & washing it when it's in the 40's. I SHOULD do it today since it's warmer, but it's going to rain tomorrow, so I doubt I will. :dunno:

Hi everyone.....

My name is Jose. I currently live in Fontana, CA. Ive owned 5 Honda Accords and I have loved them. First started with a 1990 Accord EX 4-Door Silver, 1992 Accord EX 5-Speed Burgandy, 1992 Accord EX Blue, 1991 Accord EX Green, then i got a 2000 Accord LX 4-Door Green and the most current one 04 Accord EX 4-Door. Ive never had any problems with any of my cars. We always stayed with Accords for the gas milage, durability and looks. We just traded in out 2000 Accord for the 2004 Accord EX. I love my new car. We were aming for the 07 but the bank couldn't finance us.

I work as a Tech. for a Kiosk company out of Vegas, NV. We build Kiosks for Gaming Casinos, Movie Theatres, Jail Falicities, Hotels, Ect.

Are they done with all that snow???? :lmao:

There's still a lot around the area. When they cleared the roads, they piled up a lot of snow to the sides.

It's sunny out, but its also really cold. It's in the teens or single digits.

It snowed an inch or so last night, but the main concern is how cold it is, so that layer of snow isn't really melting.

Hi, my name is Josh and I am 21. I am owner of two Accords- my sig has the specs. I live in Southern California. I was going to become an auto mechanic and had started an AS in Automotive Tech when I realized working on cars really frustrates me. So I decided to follow my real passion and I got a job as a conductor on the Union Pacific Railroad. However I still pursue my interest in cars in the form of reading automotive theory and design books, among other books(I love to read), in my spare time. I also fly R/C helicopters with my dad and uncle. My avatar is a pic of my '02 when it was at the dealer.

I'm new (to the forum), driving a new '07 EX L sedan. The wife and I like to travel, many miles covered over the years. Although, never in a honda until this one. We're looking forward to many more miles in the accord.

I was just reminiscing about our vehicle history.
2 toyota corollas, datusun pickup, 2 mini vans, 2 volvos, chevy silverado (current) and the '07 accord. We've started traveling ON a honda in the past few years. 2 wheelers: honda sabre 1100, honda st1100, honda st1300 (current), bmw R1100RT(wife's current).

I'm a retired microbiologist, trying to get my RN wife to go to work. Yea, right.

Hello,

This is my first post here. I'm from Malaysia and living in it's capital, Kuala Lumpur. I own 3 Hondas, an 89 Prelude 2.0 Si 4ws , a 2000 CRV 2.0 and my most recent purchase, a 2007 Accord 3.0 V6 VTEC (built in Thailand year of manufacture 2005).

I've always loved Honda engines and their build quality. The Prelude has been my constant companion since 1994 (I bought it with my first paycheck). The CRV has been a big help ever since the arrival of my son and it continues to be the workhorse in the family. The Accord has a gem of an engine that has yet to go past a thousand km. I look forward to sharing many more years with the 3 Hondas.

I am 36 yrs old, married to a wonderful wife (a doctor) with a wonderful 2 year old son. I earn a living doing the thing I enjoy the most (flying aircrafts) and I enjoy the traveling that comes with the job. Personally, I feel this is the most wonderful time in my life.

This is the friendliest and most informative Honda forum I've visited so far and I look forward to meeting new friends and fellow enthusiasts here. To Princess, thanks soo much for the wealth of information you've provided in this forum...

Warm regards to everyone!

Hi ci54!

I work with quite a few Malaysians. They're not here but they're in KL and Bukut Jalil. A few of them came here and spent a month or two in training (we're doing follow the sun support). Pretty cool people.

Welcome to DA and hope you have fun!

Welcome Ci54.

Question: Do you work for Boeing?

Hi stevencrosbie,

I wish!! No, I don't.. I work for an airline for the past 14 years. Currently I'm flying the B737-400. I've only flown Boeings so far and I must say they are very, very good, tough and forgiving machines. I flew the Jumbo -400 for a few years and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Very smooth and reliable..

I'm sure the Dreamliner is going to follow the Boeing traditon..

hy guys.
i'm caesar but everyone calls me casey. the "5.0" comes from the fact that i'm actually the fifth generation caesar in my family (not because i own a mustang). i live in rochester, new york. i just found this site a couple of weeks ago. it's linked to the hondacuraworld parts site my buddy told me about when i bought my car. this is my second honda. i bought an '89 integra back in 1994, which i actually saw on the road last summer (a big feat considering the body corrosion from all the salt on the roads in these harsh winters.)

i'm married (four years) with our first baby on the way in august, and figured it was time to get the four door sedan, so after lots of searching and comparing, i decided to go with the accord.

i've been looking around at alot of the posts and forums on this site and i'm really impressed at all of the time and work that's gone into making this a super place for info and discussion about our cars. i'd say i've learned more about my car(advice, instructions, maintenance tips, etc.) in the last two weeks, than i ever have about any other car i've driven. moreover, it's just really cool to see so many people enthused about the car they're driving. it makes me feel like i've made a very good decision. i'm sure i'll be here reading and posting often. i'll get some pictures up of my car soon (i love this car) but the weather...oh, the rochester winter...

Hi everyone!

Well I've been here for more than a year already (joined a couple of weeks after I got my 06). But don't think I've introduced myself before (or did I? :paranoid: ).

Anyway, I'm from Bahrain, 26, married. I have a 16 month old kid keeping me busy.

I have been a telecom engineer for the past 3 years. I have been to some places in europe and asia but never been to the US (althought I would love to do so someday).

Well... that's all about me I guess :)
