View Full Version : Happy Turkey Day!!!!
princess 11-22-2006, 03:17 PM I spent today making the pumpkin, apple & chocolate pies.... baking the ham, stuffing mushrooms (crab & sausage), getting the jello gelled for the ambrosia, putting the leaves in the table & the BIG cloth on it.....
Plus the cleaning & laundry... :paranoid:
I'm pooped, but I wanted to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving!! I hope the foods all wonderful & the teams you root for win & the relatives are on good behavior!!!! :D

joerockt 11-22-2006, 06:08 PM Thank jeebus I go to my Aunts every year for Turkey day. I did it one year when we moved into our new house. WAY to hetic because I had 2 turkeys going, one in the oven and one in the fryer.
princess 11-22-2006, 06:31 PM We're having 10 this year.... small by our normal standards, but works for me!!
Windchimp 11-23-2006, 06:16 AM Happy Turkey Day all you turkeys!!!
I get off easy for this holiday...it's always at a certain relative's house. All I have to do is provide the wine (the rest of them are CLUELESS about grape juice) and of course, my world-famous homemade ICE CREAM...2 scoops please!
It's always interesting getting together with the crowd during the holidays. It's the only time of the year I see alot of them (for good reason! :paranoid: ) The conversations certainly show that ignorance is bliss (their ignorance, my bliss  ) Particularly when it inevitably gets around to cars. Good thing I bring plenty of wine.
So this leads to the question - how many here will get up at O'Dark-Thirty for Black Friday to snag all those bargains? (while I'm home making waffles)
Pass the gravy, please!
andysinnh 11-23-2006, 06:56 AM Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Turkey's in the oven, pies are baked, kids are all home, and dad is coming over just after noontime. Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday, and watch your cars for door dings if you go out on Black Friday!!!

Two words: HELL NO.
All my xmas shopping involves a mouse and clicking. My wife can deal with that crap if she wants
BenjiBoy650 11-23-2006, 07:25 AM Yeah I waited in the rain for 3 hours last year for a $1000 42" plasma...no more this year. Man, most of the deals are even online already, right now!
jermy4 11-23-2006, 03:20 PM Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm going to stay home tomorrow and put up the tree and outside lights. No way am I going shopping.
Half-Breed 11-23-2006, 04:28 PM It's 7:30p on Thr.. I just got back from my first shift of line waiting (Black Friday). I started waiting at 3pm Thr.. An HP laptop for half of its original price is just too good of a deal to pass on! As for family, check my screen name, get the picture? ;)
princess 11-24-2006, 08:06 AM Although a shopping marathon would likely help burn off some of those pies.... I'm not leaving the house today.
stevencrosbie 11-24-2006, 09:22 AM Happy Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
I'm back in San Antonio (which explains my absence) and am enjoying the break. I didn't go out today either as the lines are just not worth the potential savings.
Now its time for them leftovers.
mnkyman 11-24-2006, 04:23 PM stood outside bestbuy from 1:30 am to 5 am when they opened
over a 1000 ppl in line (line looped around very large parking lot 5 times)
there was about 200 ppl in front of me...
still got a canon powershot (230), 19'' samsung LCD monitor (129), 20'' tv (59), and a Westinghouse 42" Flat-Panel LCD HDTV (1000)..still not sure about the last one, they have a dlp one for 1200 on the site (sold out in stores)..might get it
all it all, it was cool..stood out there with a couple friends..then we went to dennys and saw the sun rise
then came home and passed out from exaustion till about 5 pm
SSMV6 11-25-2006, 06:21 AM I did all my shopping online.. It's not worth it to get up early or stay up to wait in line for 4 hours in the freezing/wet weather.
princess 11-25-2006, 08:08 AM We;ve done a big chunk of the shopping online.
Monday we plan to put up the new outside lights....we're ALL LED now!! I'll share when they're up.
stiller fan 11-26-2006, 08:33 AM my mom asked me to pick up a new flat screen CRT tv.....
she wanted me to go to walmart for the 5am opening.....
my look to her: :screwy:  :headbash:
needless to say, i didn't go..... there hve been shootings and fights at the one that was supposed to go to..... insane.....
