View Full Version : Rear Splashguard Install Question...

So I bought rear splashguards for my 2006 coupe, and looking over the instructions I can't see how I can install them without removing the rear tires (as 1 screw has to go on the "inside" of the wheelwell). I might be able to get away with just jacking the car up (suspension travel might give me enough room), however I'm not sure until I try.

Considering the official instructions make no mention of removing tires/putting a car on a lift, am I reading/interpreting something wrong? I'm also lowered on the HFP suspension as well, if that makes a difference (probably does due to available space in the wheelwell to work).

Thanks in advance...

hey conundrum, when i installed my splash guards, what i did was that i took a small baby screw driver that i had when i bought those build it yourself die cast model kits, it was only about two inches long. then i took a vice grip and gripped the end of the screw driver. this was before i bought a set of rachets. i did this for the pilot where i had ample room, and my accord is stock in terms of springs so there is some room, but i don't know how much room there is with the HFP springs in

Use a ratchet with a screwdriver head attachment

When i removed those screws they didnt want to come out and I couldnt get enough leverage with a right angle screw driver, so you're best bet is to remove the tire then you have more room to work and can put more pressure on the screw head.

I have mine installed earlier. End up I didn't take out any of my rims (they are all 18" by the way)

I know it will be much easlier if I could take out the wheels.. but I am too lazy.......

I actually got them on last week. Couldn't find my stubby phillipshead (until the day after actually...lol), so I pulled the rear tires.
