Good news! We'd paid 1200 to the IRS & had overpaid by 350. The turbotax program messed up & put our misc. income as "self employed" & charged us for self employment tax. It wasn't on our printed copy. It put it on the online one only!

Anyway, got the check today. :D


Has anyone else had a turbotax malfunction?? They (irs) said they'd seen several this year.:eek: Not good!!

I used TaxACT this year & last year. No such luck with a software error & a check in the mail. Must be nice!

Getting it back is nice.....having to pay it wasn't!

We've been using turbotax forever & this was the very first mistake. We don't have anything really complicated on there.

They said that renters weren't getting renter's credit ont he state one. We aren't renters though. I don't know if they which other areas were malfunctioning.

Been w/T-tax for about 10 years... no problems so far?
Have been using Home/Business ver for about 3yrs.

We mail in printed forms and check is direct deposited into our account.

We've been doing it all online for a few years now. We used to print & mail & wait for the check. Then we did online & wait for check. For the past 3 or 4 years we've done it all online & direct dep. Until this year. It was done online & mail them money. Get a letter back asking for the self employment form. Call. Got it straightened out. Waited for check.... :)
