What did you think of the show to end an era?
Hey at least Ross and Rachel are together.
So, do you think Joey's new show will make it?

Hope this doesn't take your thread off-track, but i was surprised to read an editorial yesterday claiming that "Friends" was just an average sitcom, and does not belong in the same class as "All in the Family", "Cosby Show", "MASH", "Seinfeld", etc.
Made me stop and think - is i more of a "Three's Company" or is is really an all-time classic?
I am only a casual fan, so I am not really qualified to give my opinion. From what I have seen in my lifetime, "MASH" and "Seinfeld" are in a dead heat for best ever...

I don't believe any show that last ten years could be considered average. Each of the show mentions is notable for a reason and not the same reason. From social commentary to breaking down barriers each served a purpose in a specific time in television history. Shown in a different decade, could easily had any of them fail in one season.

I was a MASH fan. I only occationally watched Friends. I liked it OK, just never really got into it. My daughter LOVED it & will miss the show. But she's closer to the age of the characters. I NEVER like Seinfeld.....it was too about nothing for me.
I did watch the Friends last night to see how they finished it.
I was a teen during the All in the Family time & didn't watch much TV. I wasn't home. I've seen the reruns though. I saw the humor & liked it.
The Joey show may be doomed just because of the spin off curse that most suffer!!
We watch West Wing, Jag, CSI, Navy NCIS & Enterprise (sure hope it improves!)

I think West Wing is one of the best television shows on right now. Their writers are the best. It's not fluff, it's a thinking man's (and woman's) kind of show.
My wife is a diehard CSI, Navy CSI, Miami CSI, Forensics...you get the idea. She should have been a forensics scientist instead of a Petroleum Chemist Research Scientist. :)
i've watched freinds all along. thought they should have gave up on it about 3 seasons ago. not a classic IMO, but it did have its moments.

We find ourselves watching CSI Miami too. We on't think it's done as well as the LV one. They do stuff that is for the police, bomb squad, divers.... We do enjoy the detail they put into bullistics.
The one show we can't miss is West Wing! We have 2 VCR's set up to catch it....just in case!
Many Friends fans were disppointed in the last couple of seasons. I am glad they tied up the loose ends when they finished the show.
We NEVER watch "reality" shows. I guess we have enough reality in our lives!! My buddy can't miss them. I don't care who marries who or what stupid stuff people do to get a mil!!:)

I think that for a teen I really don't watch TV as much as I should to be healthy :) When I turn on the TV, it's only for Simpsons, CSI/CSI Miami, news or Jeopardy! and not much else. I never watched a full episode of Friends, I tried but it never kept my attention. Should I start watching it? haha
Seems like a lot of us love to watch CSI. Is it something in there that attracts the car people? Hmmm interesting...haha.
IMO...
It was an average show at best.
I think the final episode was WAY over-hyped.

i only hope that there will be another show that is as good as friends was. i didn't get to see much of it for the last 2 years because of school but that show always made me laugh. I think someone already said this, but it was a typical friends episode. I also agree with bean that it was way over-hyped.

I think they're doing an encore of the last one tonight. So if anyone missed it.....
