Any of you had to change the door lock actuators yet under warranty (or not)?

there was someone at the houston meet yesterday with a "show accord" and when he tried to lock the door, the actuator was loud as hell (obviously they were messed up)

and a couple ppl were talking about how bad honda actuators are

just a quick story

I just purchased my 2003 accord v6 coupe (5spd auto) and the lock actuators seem to not work. i press the lock or unlock button, with no response. the cars headlights. interior lights, and tailights flash, but the locks do not unlock/lock. It might be a bad battery in the key, but im gonna check that out. i have a feeling that isnt it...anyone else had problems like this?

I've had 1 replaced under warranty (long time ago under Honda Care), and about 4 months ago I replaced the drivers side (again), and now the passenger side is randomly making that 'noise' (buzzzzzzzz) that you're referring to. So more than likely I'll be hitting the salvage yard for a used replacement, and getting one for each door just incase. I've bought new ones for the one I replaced, and obviously Honda used a new one when they replaced it, but the first Honda OEM replacement when bad 15 months later, and the seccond one is getting jammed every now and then, so I question the worthyness of spending $90 on a Honde one, when $90 will buy three at the salvage yard. :dunno:

Also, mine go bad quicker becuase my doors have autolock. I hate the feature personally, which is why I usually keep my door open when I start the car so it will disable itself, but I haven't a clue on how/where to remove it from the car. Keyless entry may be another factor. I try to stick my key in the door at least once a month though.

So in otherwords... Yes. Honda Actuators suck. Our 03' was buzzing at 74k when we traded it for my dads Volvo.

Forgot to mention this too. The power window motors suck as well. My drivers side went out after 7yrs/60k of use, and now my passenger wont go up without help unless the car is moving. Very odd, but true. And my rears don't go up all the way either, they stop once they seal though. Gonna be buying 3 new window motors soon too. :thumbsdow Sometimes I wonder if this is a Honda, or a Volkswagen (Electrical gremlins').
