I ordered the Parrot 3200 Ls off of crutchfield... I searched the forums and threads and found some installs but none that provide step by step information. This Parrot is the newest of the parrot Bluetooth devices thus the reason for the new thread. I also bought the parrot Y harness adapter so I can have full integration... This will be interesting since there is already a Y adapter on the HU for the Honda MP3 player and the Factory XM... hope that the adapter plugs in somewhere other that the Y'ed connection. Parts should arrive by Tuesday so I will keep every one posted... Expect some pictures on wednesday...

I ordered that same combo to replace my Motorola BT kit which is a real disappointment.
The Y cable issue won't be a problem. The Y harness that the Parrot uses is connected to the main harness of the radio, not the aux harness (which connects XM, CD changer, tape deck etc).

Nice when I get the parts in ( their late ) i will post the pics of the install so others can do it.

I was going to buy a CK3100 a while back but couldn't stomach the cost considering I don't use my phone much at all. Ended up just buying a BT headset for now, and might do something else in the future (looking at some navi units that have BT as well).

Well I don't like BT earpieces. They tend to fall off my ears or feel awkward.
I got the CK3200LS for $174.98 including shipping off ebay.
That one is better than the CK3100 since it has a color screen.

By the way my CK3200LS is in hand, and the Y cable is arriving tomorrow.
I'm tempted to do the install this weekend!

I'm tempted to do the install this weekend!
I usually can't go more than 24hrs before installing a new piece. I plan on installing my new sway bar tonight in my carport while it rains.

It's installed and pairs nicely with my Treo 700p!
It works a hell of a lot better than the old motorola BT kit.
Install was literally plug and play.

Nice.
I have the CK3100. I like it a lot. For me, I don't need a color screen on my bluetooth kit, as I'm not really concerned with looking at pictures through it.
Pretty much, I just wanted a kit that integrates with my phone, and has a phonebook. That was the selling point. And I could see who is calling me, which the text is more important to me than the picture. I'm not going to concentrate on the picture as much as the person's name of who is calling me.
How do you like the CK3200? Do you have any pics? I think the 3200 screen is kindof big, so I'd like to see where you put it.
I don't have any pics of my install, but I'm thinking about moving it's location again. But I don't know about that yet, we'll see how lazy I get.

An update for all... sorry that I have not posted the install yet... UPS Lost my package and it was finally delivered yesterday. I will post some pictures of the integration harness and the Unit itself today... I can not install the unit until this weekend due to the fact that I start my final semester of college tomorrow, and I just know that I wont be able to touch it until this weekend... again sorry. :)

Since I just got the devices, and I have HW ( Last semester of College & first day of Class) & my wife will not let me mess with the install until I get the remaining Christmas lights off of our roof , I only have the Pictures of the units / harnesses. I will post the install on sat.

The harness is pretty foolproof. All of the connectors are keyed. You can't fark up anything at all. Just plug the Parrot's DIN connectors into the harness, unplug the main blue harness from the back of the Accord's head unit and plug the harness inline, route your cables and voila.
And oh yeah... don't forget to switch the fuses per the instruction manual.
I'll try to take some better pics in the daylight with my better camera.

In case you're wondering, the Parrot supports OBEX meaning you can upload custom wallpapers into it, as well as contacts from your phonebook.
I uploaded a Honda logo from my Treo that I downloaded from some random website.
On many phones it should sync the phonebook, but there's a catch.
On my Treo 700p it will only sync your speed dial, not your contacts listing from the contacts palm app. However you can send contacts (again, via OBEX) to the kit. It's a pain because I have like a billion contacts but only a few in my speed dial (g/f, mom, dad, plus a few numbers from work) and if I wanted them all in there I'd have to send them one by one.
Anything else?
Oh yeah - volume on your radio won't affect volume on the phone. You have to adjust that from the Parrot itself.
It also mutes navi so pay attention if you're on the phone (yeah, I know, hard, aint it?)
I found it amazing that in years Honda hasn't changed the stereo connector on the back. Even the wiring is the same. Wow.
Overall I like it a lot better than the MOtorola. The MOtorola is going on ebay. While I still like their two way radios, I must say their cellphone stuff has really gone downhill.

I'm assuming you're using the harness from www.parrotkits.com ?
I didn't use a harness, I hardwired it in. I'm thinking about redoing the install though.
For the harness that you use, does it mute all speakers, or just the front two?
I have it setup right now that it mutes the front two speakers, but since it mutes the Navi, and the Navi mutes the front two, it kindof conflicts. I didn't think about it until I had the car back together.
I'm thinking about making my own harness actually. I'll have to see when I can redo the installation, and when I do, I'm going to just have it mute the left front speaker. That way, if I'm using the Navi, I could still hear it from the passenger side speaker.
I have some installations to do soon, so what's an extra half hour or so. Granted I would have to take it out first.

Thanks for all of the comments / help / suggestions... EXLNavi I like your install, but I think that I am planning on putting the unit somewhere else... Have not figured out yet though.... I really want to install the mike in the space open behind the Navi mic... I would also like to install the unit more near the mic... have not figured it out yet... I am a tall large man, and when I have to sit in the passenger seat I think that your location might pose a problem for me... :) I just dont want to take the time to install it only to have it break when my leg smashes it , because my wife took a corner too fast... :) thanks again I will keep every one posted on what location that I use with pics. EXLNavi how do you add the pics to the reply like that... I must be stupid b/c everytime I try it I can not get it to work....

The location hasn't posed any problems but I don't sit in the passenger seat.
The mic is up near the rear view mirror.
I didn't place the LCD there because I don't want to have to raise my hand to push buttons etc. Down where I have it is much more ergonomic.
To inline pictures, I upload them to flickr then I use img tags.
However, if you want to use attachments, upload one picture per post and the pictures will display.

Yep!
I didn't use a harness, I hardwired it in. I'm thinking about redoing the install though.
I could have hardwired it, but I didn't want to go through the drama of cutting wires.
For the harness that you use, does it mute all speakers, or just the front two?
All six speakers are muted.
I have it setup right now that it mutes the front two speakers, but since it mutes the Navi, and the Navi mutes the front two, it kindof conflicts. I didn't think about it until I had the car back together.
What do you mean by conflict?
The Parrot doesn't use any fancy mute wire or anything into the Accord's audio system. All it does is interrupt the audio using relays. The OEM Honda phone kit does that as well.
It will mute the navi as well. That is pretty much unavoidable.

But if you mute just one speaker, you'll have to lower the volume manually or else you wouldn't be able to make the phone call properly.

When I installed it, I didn't know harnesses were available.
To me, when it mutes the front speakers during a call, and I'm using Navi, I'd like for the Navi to still be able to tell me through voice prompts directions. I can't always keep an eye on the Navi screen while I'm driving, so if a turn is coming up, I don't want to miss it. I've had it happen before.
I already lower the volume of the music manually or turn off the radio. It's really not much of a hassle to turn the knob or push it in. I'd just like the option of being able to hear Navi voice prompts if I'm using Navi and talking on the phone at the same time.

Hearing navi would be nice, but would be difficult to set up that way if the music is to be muted.
But if you don't mind lowering the volume manually, I guess it could work like that.

I have picked a spot for the Mic and the unit itself.... Warning: If you do this you can damage the plastic interior parts of your car.... since most parts can not be bought separately it can mean $$$ if you make a mistake... I can not be held responsible...
Now that my Lawyer statement is over, now to the fun part I want this to look a factory as possible, I will post the pics that display what you can not find on this forum... All of the obvious instructions like: radio removal, Interior trim removal, and overhead console removal can be found by looking for your year model and doing a search on I-VES install....

I want this to look factory somewhat, so my obvious choice for the mic is next to my navi mic.... before everyone clammers this location works because the mic is offset. I did not want to tie into the navi mic itself, b/c that can pose major unforseen electrial problems... Also I want to be able to remove this if it ever becomes necessary. here is the 1st pic... it shows what you will need to remove... ( this pic is of the completed modification) :naughty:

here are all of the tools that are needed
Accordtx1
01-11-2007, 04:56 PM
1. take apart the light console that you removed
-> do this by pressing in on the 4 black clips at the top and bottom
-> then take apart the plastic cover (Grey on mine)

Should look like this

Then remove the black inner chassis
Should look like this
Accordtx1
01-11-2007, 05:01 PM
Then remove the black inner chassis
then remove the mic from it's clip ( be careful not to break the clip) weave the mic wire from the bottom right around towards the led... ( the wire will go under the mic) there are grooves in the holder that will hold a wire. ( this is to secure the mic.)
Accordtx1
01-11-2007, 05:04 PM
then weave your mic wire through the hole on the light chassis that allows the factory harness to connect...
Accordtx1
01-11-2007, 05:08 PM
you then want to leave enought slack so that when the black chassis snaps into the (grey) trim piece then it sits flush with the plastic trim. you then want to add two ( or as many as you care to add) holes to the trim piece so that all of your parrot mic is exposed
Accordtx1
01-11-2007, 05:13 PM
put all the parts back together and then you have a completed overhead console... route the wire along the top of the headliner downtowards the dash... then I am attaching the parrot on the glass right above my registration sticker... all of run the wiring down into the dash untill you connect with the harness that I have shown in other photos... attach all the hardware that comes with the Parrot and then sync into the radio... since I have finished this when it is dark I will post pics of the completed install when tomorrow after class / work.

After 2 weeks of using the unit... I have to say that this works quite well... I will have to re install the H.U. for the the bluetooth on the windshield , but other than that, it works perfectly.

Nice,
I was thinking about getting the same thing but then after installing that audio adapter on the back of my navi which enables me to have an AUX port of a kind - I connect that cable to the phone and simply talk. My Nokia N91 has a great Mic and I hear people through the car speakers over the CD CHRGR port ;)
